Sleepy Hollow, Season Three, Episode Five: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Editor's Note: This is the second half of the cross over episode between Sleepy Hollow and Bones which for some inexplicable reason, Fox thought was necessary.
A courier driver makes his way happily down the road when Pandora appears in the middle of the street like a specter. Thinking that he has run her over, he pulls over to the side of the road. When he turns around, she's not there. Pandora appears in front of him and tells him that this is not personal and then uses magic to suffocate him. Pandora's eye begin to glow a sinister yellow and she instructs the driver to run. When he turns tail, she opens up the back of the delivery truck. In the back of the truck is a sarcophagus which originated at the Jeffersonian. Pandora throws an amulet on the bones and maggots appear. Pandora says that some men are too important to die. The maggots become a live creature named General Howe and Pandora informs him that the King requires his aid. Pandora asks him to gather his men to make the patriots become afraid of Britain and her dead again. Pandora offers General Howe vengeance on an enemy who once tried to end his life. Yep, you guessed it Ichabod Crane.
In the meantime, Crane and the crew are spending Halloween bowling. Jenny is the first to comment that Crane could have loosened up and actually worn a costume and so he points out that he is John Adams. The crew apparently should have guessed this from his waistcoat. Ichabod notices Zoe and Abby encourages him to head over and get his flirt on. Naturally, Zoe knows exactly who Ichabod is dressed as and reveals that she chose to dress up as Betsy Ross. Yeah, Sleepy Hollow is laying this all on a little thick if you ask me. They agree to bowl a frame together later and Crane heads back to his crew. Everyone takes the opportunity to tease Crane about his little chat with Zoe. The laughter is cut short when Crane gets a text informing him that General Howe's remains never arrived at their destination.
Some kids are egging a graveyard when they notice an old gothic mausoleum and decide to investigate. The kids started to get freaked out and decide to leave but before they can do so, General Howe appears. All of the kids save one manages to escape and he quickly finds himself surrounded by revolutionary war zombies. Okay, for the record everyone knows that in a horror situation, the black folk flee and the white folk investigate and then get murdered. WTH Sleepy Hollow?
Abby and Crane are investigating the now empty courier truck. Crane immediately suggests that Pandora is guilty and wonders what she would want with Howe's remains. Together, they decide to follow the tracks which of course leads to the mausoleum that the kids were just at. It seems that the British employed the area as a staging ground for the battle of Manhattan. Is there a stone in Sleepy Hollow that isn't historical in some fashion? As they head inside to check out the mausoleum, Abby takes the opportunity to bring up Zoe and suggest that Crane plan a date with her but Crane is adamant that he and Zoe are not a thing. Okay, do these two even realise that they could be facing death? Why are they even talking about Zoe now? Abby suggests that it's time to move on and Crane talks about his former relationship with Katrina but says that this chapter of his life is now closed. Yep, let the audience say Amen. If I never hear Katrina's name again, it will be too soon.
Abby and Crane pause when they notice blood dripping from the season. When they look up, the body of the kid plummets to the ground. Abby and Crane don't have time to register what they are seeing because they are approached by zombie red coats, being led by none other than General Howe. Abby and Crane fire but being dead, neither Howe or his soldiers are injured. They take off running with the soldiers fast on their heels. Crane and Abby just manage to evade the soldiers who run outside and end up bursting into dust when the suns rays touch them.
The next day at work, Abby heads into Reynolds office to find out why he has been visited by two U.S. attorneys. It seems that Reynolds has been working on a big case regarding a company buying items stolen by terrorists. Reynolds offers Abby the job of task force coordinator and she is happy to accept.
Crane has flashbacks to when Howe was demanding that he inform on the patriots, as he searches through books for clue. Abby enters and informs Crane that the death at the mausoleum has been ruled an accident. Crane is upset because he has found nothing in Washington's bible, Franklin's notebook and Grace Dickson's notebook to explain what they witnessed. Abby is adamant that they will find something because they always do. Crane is upset because though things didn't end well with Howe, there was a time when he thought Howe to be honourable. Abby however reminds Crane of all the things Howe tried to make him do. Crane then admits that Washington sent him to kill Howe, conceding that this was one of the darker points of the war.
Yep, it's flashback time and we see Howe holding the amulet that Pandora used to raise his body. Crane holds a gun to Howe's head advising him to order his men to turn around. Howe however chooses to test Crane's resolve, saying that Washington gave him this order to test Crane's loyalties. Howe asks Crane if he can kill a man in cold blood. Crane asks Howe to retreat and he refuses to do so until all the colonials lie in a grave. Howe tells Crane to do what he came to do or leave before he is placed in irons. Redcoats burst into the room, forcing Crane to flee.
In the present, Crane reports that if he had had another moment he would have pulled the trigger, which might have meant that the colonials would have been able to keep the city. Abby wonders if there was another reason that Washington sent Crane to take out Howe and Crane admits that Howe was holding a stone with a Nordic emblem when he confronted him. When Crane says that the emblem looked like a man with two swords through him, Abby suggests that it means dead man walking. That's all that's needed to give Crane a lead to a rare breed of undead warrior who swore an oath of duty in life that lasts beyond death. From the book they figure out that the method of killing Howe must reside in his tomb.Since Pandora wants to raise fear in people the fact that Howe and his men will be roaming the street on Halloween will accomplish that if they are not stopped.
Joe Corbin arrives at Jenny's with the ingredients for her favourite drink and they flirt a little. It's not long before they start talking about the shard. Jenny has figured out that a man named Atticus is the one who is after the shard. Joe recognizes Atticus as a friend of his father's. It seems that Joe's father served with Attius in the military. Joe asks Jenny to hand him the albums he brought over and sure enough, there's a picture of Corbin standing next to Atticus. Jenny and Joe wonder how many secrets Corbin kept from them but Jenny is adamant that now that they have a name, they can get some answers. Jenny assures Joe that Corbin was one of the best men she has ever known.

Sleepy Hollow, Season One, Episode Nine: Sanctuary
Lena Gilbert drives up to her former family home with her body guard Sam, who tries to argue that they shouldn't enter because the house looks haunted and they don't know if it is structurally safe. Lena makes her way to a closet to finds that roots have grown through it. She cuts her hand on a thorn and then the roots reach out and trap her.
Ichabod and Abbie are at the station and Crane is snarking about the drivethru food and Abbie says that this is as much as a Thanksgiving as they are getting. Abbie then lists what a traditional family meal consists of and Crane informs her that the pilgrims didn't have any sugar to make a pie with and they would have eaten venison not turkey. Crane admits that all this talk of holidays and family time irks him because he cannot be with Katrina. Abbie tells Crane that he has lost more than anyone ever should and therefore has a right to be unhappy.
Frank interrupts their conversation to say that Lena Gilbert has gone missing. Abbie wonders why Lena is their concern and Frank tells them that the Senate Majority leader contacted him to report Lena missing. When Frank mentions that Lena is a billionaire, this throws Ichabod for a loop because that was the GNP of all 13 colonies in his lifetime. Frank then shows them a note Lena wrote which has Katrina's name on it. Frank adds that according to the GPS on Lena's car, her last known place is in Sleepy Hollow. Crane and Abbie leave the office and Abbie suggests that this might be a coincidence but Ichabod is not convinced. Crane points out that Lena's lineage dates back to the founding fathers and asks Abbie to do a search on Lena's family. Ichabod realises that Lena is related to Lachlan Federick. Ichabod says that he knows where Lena went.
Abbie and Crane pull up at the house Lena went to check out and Crane is astounded with how run down it is. We get a flashback to Crane and Katrina arriving at the house. As they walk in the front entrance, Katrina says that the house is a safe haven and that everyone there, regardless of the colour of their skin, is free and guaranteed Lachlan's protection. Lachlan even paid them all a living wage.
Abbie and Ichabod enter the house calling out for Lena. They enter a room when Abbie notices someone sitting in a chair. The person turns out to be Sam and he is dead. Abbie says it looks like Sam has been attacked by an animal. Ichabod notices blood on the floor which causes them to think that Lena was dragged away. Abbie gets on the walkie talkie to get additional units but gets no signal. When Abbie tries to leave, the doors and windows all slam shut, locking them in the house. Abbie declares that they are in a "damn haunted house.' Abbie tries the doors and says that she is not staying there but Crane replies that they are trapped in there for a reason and so they need to find Lena.
Abbie sees a vision of a woman and walks into another room. Crane follows her but doesn't see her but says that they can survive this. Abbie suggests that they move on because Lena is not there but Ichabod pauses when he finds a book once owned by Katrina. The book contains a letter Crane wrote to her on the day he faced the Horseman. It's his death letter and Crane thinks that they were meant to find it. Abbie moves into another room and asks Crane if he is sure the house wasn't haunted before and filled with crows.
We get a flashback to Ichabod and Abbie meeting Lachlan and Grace Dickson. Crane says that Lachlan and Grace talked of evil and so he believes that the house was also a supernatural haven. They continue to move through the house and find blood on a post and so head downstairs. Abbie opens the closet and finds Lena trapped inside. Together, Crane and Abbie work to free Lena and this wakes a wooden creature outside of the house. The creature moves towards the front door, as Lena says that the house is alive. Crane and Abbie try to calm Lena and Crane brings up Lachlan and how brave he was.
At the station, Frank leaves a message for Abbie about her whereabouts and takes the time to complain about having to deal with Jenny's bs. Jenny returns the gun and Frank points out that she stole it. Frank then asks for the rest and Jenny puts another gun on the table, after claiming she thought it was a gift. Jenny gets up to leave but pauses and then asks Frank if he would like to come over for Thanksgiving dinner. Frank is amazed that Jenny can cook and says that they are going to act like normal people for a change.

Sleepy Hollow, Season One, Episode Four: The Lesser Key of Solomon
The episode begins with flashback to Boston Harbour December 16, 1773. That's right, crates of tea are being dumped into the harbour. Ichabod is told to step aside because not only did Washington demand the return of a crate but Ichabod as well. The redcoats enter and one begins a prayer before a huge explosion goes off. In the present, Ichabod is telling his story to Onstar, which he contacted because he was locked in the car. A van hustles out of the parking lot and Ichabod hops out of the car. Abbie approaches and informs Ichabod that Jenny has escaped.
Abbie then asks Frank to call off the dogs, so that she can quietly look for her sister. Frank is not immediately agreeable to this but Abbie points out that Jenny was due to be released in six months and suggests that there had to be good reason for her sister to try and escape now. Abbie adds that Jenny does not do random. Frank asks what Ichabod and Abbie said to Jenny when they visited her. Ichabod replies that Jenny is a brilliant woman, who is haunted by a past she cannot understand. Frank wants to know how the recent murder spree relates to Jenny's escape and while Abbie cannot explain, she is firm in the belief that Jenny will have the answers, if she can just get to her. Frank concedes and gives Abbie 12 hours but promises that after that time he will issue a nation wide warrant for Jenny. Wait a nation wide warrant? Wasn't Abbie just in for some petty theft? Why are they making her out to be this massive threat if that is the worst that she has done?
In the meant time, Jenny is at a bar and tells Randall the bartender that she needs her things. Jenny tells Randall that the town is going straight to hell.
A music teacher is giving a piano lesson when his phone rings. He learns that Jenny has escaped and the ominous voice warns they have reason to believe that Jenny knows where item 37 is. He is told that a cleanup crew will arrive to help him. The teacher then heads to the bar where Jenny picked up her things. Randall claims not to know Jenny and suggests that they leave. The teacher replies that lies require commitment. Randall grabs a shot gun but it is quickly taken from his hand and he is pulled over the bar, landing on the floor. Randall then admits that Jenny was there and they begin to torture him.
Abbie is on the phone as Ichabod looks over Jenny's record. He learns that Jenny was busy traveling when she wasn't incarcerated. When Ichabod mentions Somalia, Abbie says that Jenny would fit right in because Somalia is not known for law and order. Ichabod questions why Jenny would travel to exotic locals and then return to Sleepy Hollow, if all that awaited her was more incarceration. Ichabod then asks where Jenny's family was while this was going on. Abbie tells him that their father left while they were kids and a few years later, their mother had a nervous breakdown. Her mother was hospitalized, so the state placed them in foster care. Ichabod questions why Abbie had one foster home and Jenny 7 after the age of 12. Ichabod thinks that they should visit Jenny's last foster family because she stayed with them for a year.
Jenny is in a bathroom and she looks at newspaper clipping about Abbie, before loading her gun.
The cops are now at the bar where Jenny visited to pick up her things and find a headless Randall hanging from the bar. Frank points out that Randall's wounds are not cauterized, meaning that they are not dealing with another attack from the headless horseman. Frank advises that they are to stay off the radio on this one.
Abbie is talking to Jenny's last foster mother and she claims that Jenny had a quick temper and always got into trouble. When Jenny brings up that the government pays a stipend for every child she takes in, the foster mother replies that it is not nearly enough. Abbie points out that a little girl is sleeping on the floor, and looks malnourished - yet the woman has enough money to put a new car into the driveway. The foster mother points out that she put a roof over Jenny's head when no one else would and adds no one wanted Jenny. Abbie informs the woman that if she doesn't supply her with information that leads to Jenny, she will rain legal brimstone upon her. The woman pauses and says that Jenny used to go to a cabin at trout lake. Abbie tells the woman to expect a call from family services and she and Ichabod leave. Is it me or did that poor starving child just get reduced to a tool so Abbie could get the information she wanted?
Ichabod and Jenny head out to the cabin and Abbie picks the lock. Ichabod pauses at the mantle and discovers pictures of Jenny and Sheriff Corbin. Jenny enters the room and points a gun at them. The two sisters start to argue and Ichabod slams the table in frustration, then tells both women off. Abbie and Jenny lower their guns and Ichabod reintroduces himself to Jenny. Abbie questions how long Corbin was in Jenny's life. It seems not only did they know each other, Corbin sent her traveling to acquire different objects. Jenny says that Corbin visited her terribly upset the night before he died. Corbin instructed her to come to the cabin if he died and pick a device for mapping sea travel. Ichabod picks up a cloth with markings and says that he has seen them before in Boston. Apparently, they had received word that the red coats had acquired a device - a weapon to turn the tide of the war in favor of the British. Jenny is shocked so Abbie gives her the 5 second recap on Ichabod the time traveler. Ichabod then brings up the tea party and it seems that it was merely a distraction so that they could steal something from the British.
We get a flashback and Ichabod says that his plan to acquire the weapon ran into trouble. The soldier guarding the weapon was a Hessian and Jenny points out that this is just like the horseman. Ichabod says that the Hessian took his own life to protect the weapon. Ichabod is the only one who made it out alive and he discovered a chest made of stone covering in markings. He had the chest sent to Washington and that was the last he had ever seen it. Abbie questions why the Hessian was guarding the chest and Ichabod replies that it must be more than it appears, as he searches the cabin. It turns out that the device is also a projector and Ichabod makes a map appear on the wall. It's an old survey map of Sleepy Hollow which pinpoints the whereabouts of the chest.
Abbie then asks Frank to call off the dogs, so that she can quietly look for her sister. Frank is not immediately agreeable to this but Abbie points out that Jenny was due to be released in six months and suggests that there had to be good reason for her sister to try and escape now.
