Gods Among Us - Episode Four
Thor has made a few unforgettable appearances on The Almighty Johnsons. He is certainly far removed from the Marvel character. That being said Thor had children and we never got to see them. This time, Olaf tells us about what it's like to spend time with someone related Thor and as you might image, it's anything but normal.

Gods Among Us - Episode Three
This time, Zeb is exploring what it's like to become a God. Unsurprising Olaf has some unaddressed issues where this is concerned. Apparently, it's no fun to be the butt of a cosmic joke.

Gods Among Us - Episode Two
This time Zeb is exploring if the Johnsons as Gods feel a responsibility towards humanity. Unfortunately, Olaf is the one answering this question and we end up with the mother of all tangents.

Gods Among Us - Episode One
In the wake of the potential cancellation of The Almighty Johnsons, I really needed something to soothe the pain. I found the following documentary by Zeb on Youtube and thought that they might be good to share.

Axl says that they didn't think about the whole running away thing in terms of clothes, food, money, accomodations and tooth brushes. Gaia replies that she is not ready to go back and Axl promises to stay as long as she wants to, but he needs to get out of there. Gaia agrees to leave and says that they should drive until they see a sign.
Dawn is on the phone with Natalie to ask how things are going because she has not signed the deal memo. Natalie says that she forwarded it the appropriate person and when they have responded, she will contact Anders and then quickly hang up at the phone. For whatever reason, it is clear that Natalie has take a real dislike to Dawn. Dawn arrives at the office with coffee for her, Anders and Helen. Dawn tells Anders that Natalie still hasn't signed the paperwork and Helen suggests that Dawn keep chasing her. When Dawn says they might do better if Anders tries, Helen disagrees.
The Māori Gods show up at Mike's bar and want to know where Gaia is. They are not pleased because three days ago they were supposed to get together and talk everything out. Mike says Axl and Gaia have disappeared causing Jerome to suggest he hunt them down, but Mike says, "I hunt when I want to hunt and I'm busy right now." Jerome walks out saying that this is not over. George says that running away doesn't solve anything and Mike adds that it buys time to think. As George walks out, Michele checks him out.
Axl and Gaia drive until she sees a sign for Brigadoon Bed and Breakfast. She says Bryn when used to be gay, they used to watch musicals and Brigadoon was her favourite. When Gaia goes to check in, Axl points out that they smell and have no money. Gaia says that they are thinking of staying a night maybe more, and they meet Bev and Tom who are the owners. Gaia explains not having any bags by saying that they eloped. Bev asks for a credit card and says that they can sort out clothes for them. In their room, Axl comments that they are going to kill them when his credit card gets declined. Bev and Tom knock on the door to drop of costumes from the different plays that they have been there. They tell Axl and Gaia to put on anything they like and leave their dirty clothes outside.
At the office, Anders tells Dawn that they have new clients thanks to Helen. At the resort, Gaia and Axl are all showered and changed and Tom drops off some cocktails. Helen and Anders are at the business lunch and drinking quite heavily and when the bill comes, Anders grabs it and is shocked when he sees the amount. Anders is worried that his credit card company will decline it, so Helen suggests that he skip paying and use how powers as Bragi. Anders replies that he tends not to use them to rip off restaurants, so Dawn suggests that they leave an extra big tip the next time they come in. Anders does use his powers and suggests that the restaurant should spring for the bill.
Helen and Anders go home to bed and she asks if he wants his words to be able to sway politicians and millionaires causing Anders to note that Helen likes power and comment that it's interesting, considering she is a goddess who isn't exactly sure what her power is and how it works.
At the B&B, Axl and Gaia are eating when Bev comes in. Gaia says that Axl is freaked out about eating alone and suggests that Tom and Bev should join them. Tom hurries in saying that he hates eating in the kitchen because he hates feeling like a servant. Tom then goes on to ask about their elopement and Gaia says that they were friends and then that changed, but it didn't work out the first time around. She says the world kind of changed and they were thrown together, then everything got complicated so they ran away. Gaia says that she loves the idea of being married - that level of commitment between two people. When Tom and Bev admit that they aren't married, Gaia encourages them to get married because that is what people in love do. Axl listens intently without saying anything, because Frigg is the goddess of marriage and prophecy. Back in the room, Axl offers to take the floor and Gaia says that it's fine, they are capable of sharing the bed. Axl asks Gaia about what she had to say about marriage and she says that she has no idea where it came from. He then goes on to talk about how Frigg is the goddess of marriage and she quickly shuts him off.
Gaia and Axl head to the sauna and they both drink some wine. Gaia says the best thing about the last couple days is that he hasn't pushed her. Axl replies that destiny is good to embrace and that is especially true, if the one you are destined to embrace, is the one you want to embrace. He points out that she cannot avoid this for much longer because she turns 21 the day after tomorrow. Tom enters the sauna and Gaia leaves and suggests that Axl stay there. Axl and Tom have a conversation about how difficult women are to deal with. When Tom takes off his speedo, Axl takes that as his cue to leave.
Mike sees Olaf at the bar and asks where he has been. Olaf tells him to be quiet and starts pulling bugs out of the walls. There's even a camera in Mikes bedroom. Olaf explains how he saw Kvasir come in and now he understands why the front door is always unlocked. Olaf says that at first he thought Kvasir had peed himself away somehow and then he opens a secret passage way to Kvasir's lair. When Mike asks how this happened, we get a flashback to Olaf and Kvasir fighting. Mike's phone starts to ring and it is Loki, who immediately says that it's a shame that his favourite God and Goddess porn channel is now off the air. Loki also thanks him for all of Agnetha's money and Mike hangs up. It turns out all of the listening devices were there when Loki lost the bar to Mike. Loki knew that Mike would want the bar because much of the wood in the building was salvaged from the Hofting, which works as a homing beacon for the Norse Gods. Mike realises that Loki knows everything about Gaia. When he walks into the main area of the bar, Mike discovers the Māori laying down bed rolls and making themselves at home.

The Almighty Johnsons, Season Two, Episode Nine: Everything Starts with Gaia
Gaia is busy moving all the furniture around and tells Axl that she is doing this because she had a dream. Axl suggests that she take a break and go to work, and Gaia says that she woke up that morning and called in and quit. Axl is concerned because Gaia has been acting weird for awhile. Bryn shows up with Jacob hot on his heels and says that they need to evacuate the house, but she tells them that she is not going anywhere with anyone. Suddenly, a very large man named Eggthér kicks in the front door.
Eggthér says that he had the heart tested and was given a marsupial heart. He starts to throw furniture around and asks where the girl is and Brynn says, "I don't know." When Eggthér goes into Gaia's room, Axl knocks him unconscious and Brynn and Jacob run out of the house saying that they have to find Gaia. They spot Gaia in the car and say that they need to flee before Eggthér wakes up. Gaia wants to know what's going on and suggests that this is another of Brynn's drug deals gone wrong.
At the office, Anders is complaining about how much the day sucks. It seems that Anders has two clients left. Ty shows up with a tea and a scone for Dawn. When Anders discovers that Ty has a job at the bar, he decides to go with him, much to Dawn's disappointment.
Mike and Michele are having sex on his desk, when Axl and Gaia show up. Axl asks Michele to have a look at Gaia's arm claiming that she hurt herself moving furniture and then asks Mike to join him downstairs. Downstairs, Axl begins to introduce Mike to Jacob and Brynn when Olaf walks in. Olaf sniffs them both then asks to have a word with Axl and Mike. At the other end of the bar, Olaf wants to know what's up with the giant and the dwarf in the bar. Mike assumes that Olaf is drunk but Olaf says that it is not effecting his judgement. We learn that Brynn is a giant and smells like pie and Jacob is a dwarf and smells gamey. Olaf walks over and confronts Brynn and Jacob, who initially deny who they are, until Olaf introduces himself as Baldr, Mike follows with Ullr and Axl finishes with Óðinn. Brynn and Jacob are shocked and displeased to learn that they are in the presence of Gods and both go running out of the bar as quickly as possible.
As Ty is making repairs at a bar, Anders asks if he is banging Dawn again because he cannot understand why Ty is happy. Anders says that everything from Ty's marriage to Eva, to the downfall of his business, to the loss of nearly all of Agnetha's money in the stock market is all Mike's fault. Anders points out that the high which Ty is feeling from being temporarily mortal is going to where off because he is no closer to being mortal and being with Dawn than he was before.
Upstairs in the bar, Michele wraps Gaia's hand and Gaia says that she has given up nursing which Michele believes is a cause for celebration. Axl comes upstairs to ensure that Gaia is okay and tells her that Brynn has left. It turns out that this entire exchange only occurred to give Axl the chance to sniff her. When Axl reports to Olaf and Mike, he declares that he didn't smell anything. Olaf says that Brynn is clearly not her father because Gaia is not a giant. Mike goes upstairs and asks Michele to keep an eye on her. Michele wants to know why Gaia is special but Mike does not give out any details.
When Zeb returns home, he finds the place torn apart and the front door on the ground. Eggthér enters the room swinging a toaster by its cord asking who Zeb is. When Zeb tries to walk away from Eggthér, he sees Freki on the back of his shirt, which causes Eggthér to ask if Zeb is Freki. Zeb says that Freki is a Brazilian footballer and Eggther says that he killed Freki in a bar a few months ago. Zeb admits that he has heard of Eggthér and Eggthér wants to know what gives Zeb naming rights to Óðinn's wolf. Zeb says he likes to dress up and pretend and then admits that his best friend is Óðinn.
Anders and Ty are having a meal and Anders is complaining about all of his credit cards being declined. Mike calls Ty and Anders tells him not to answer because, Mike declined him the right to discover who he is. When Mike cannot reach Ty, he calls Anders and this upsets him even more because he believes that Mike thinks that he has the right to have access to them whenever he wants. They agree to talk to Mike only when they want to talk to Mike. Anders suggest that they should be the Gods they're capable of being. They decide to leave so that Anders can show Ty the stick he cut from Yggdrasil.
In what looks to be a pub, Brynn is eating a massive steak and Jacob is complaining about how he is letting himself go, buy Brynn counters that he is returning to his true self. In walk Axl, Mike and Olaf. It appears that Mike tracked them with his powers. Brynn says to Axl, "and you are Óðinn," before handing Jacob his plate and then banging his head on the table repeatedly saying, "stupid, stupid stupid giant." Bryn tells Axl that he knew there was something about him he didn't like. When Axl asks about Gaia, Bryn responds, "everything starts with Gaia."

The Almighty Johnsons Season Two, Episode Eight: Man-Flu
The brothers are gathered at Mike's bar and Anders is not pleased that Agnetha is dead and that the goddesses have been cut in on the will. When they ask him about his secret mission, Anders says that he will tell him when he has overcome the small snag that he has come across. Anders also takes the time to mention that he is not the least bit pleased with Axl's plan to become a man, so that he can become Óðinn and believes Axl should be out sleeping with as many women as possible until he finds Frigg. When Michelle comes down to grab brandy for a cold, which both she and Axl seem to be suffering from, Anders is not impressed that Mike is "sleeping with the enemy". Mike responds, "I prefer to think of it as going where you struck out." Anders answers, "well I prefer to think of it as coming to my senses before she trapped me with her evil, insidious snatch." I wonder what an episode of The Almighty Johnsons would be like without the raving misogyny week after week. Mostly, Anders is not happy to see what has become of his brothers, but Mike is even more upset and punches Anders in the jaw before he can leave the bar.
Axl is lying on the couch loudly complaining that he is sick, but neither Zeb or Gaia have an ounce of sympathy for him. Zeb does however make the point of telling Axl that he gives "man flu a bad name." At Mike's, Michele is lying in bed complaining about her illness, when Axl calls to blame her for making him sick. She counters by saying that she is sicker than him. After a small exchange of sicker than thou, Mike says, "you make me ashamed to be a man, harden up." Okay, so now we have gender policing to add to the sexism. I wonder if I will end up with a bingo doing the recap of this episode.
Anders is on the phone with Dawn, who is complaining about the loss of clients when he pulls up to an uncleared goods transitional facility. Clearly, what he attempted to bring from Norway got confiscated. Anders tries to use his powers on the agent but strikes out and she tells him that what he brought back is a bio hazard and has been quarantined according to the law.
Ty is working on a new ice sculpture when he realises that his strangely warm hand is actually melting the ice. Ty is standing outside shirtless (thanks for that writers and director) and calls Mike to ask him to pop by. Mike tries to shift to another time, but Ty says that it's too important. Mike goes to leave he discovers that he canot find his car keys. To anyone else, this would be no big deal, but because Mike is Ullr, something is definitely up. When he heads downstairs, Mike finds that Stacey is waiting for him. It turns out that Stacey knows exactly what she wants to do with her share of Agnetha's money - buy the courier company that she currently works for. Mike agrees to this plan and promises to make it happen.
When Mike shows up at Ty's, Ty hands him a bowl of Ingrid's special curry, which immediately puts Mike into a state of shock, because it's so hot. Ty's beyond excited because it turns out that Ingrid's special curry is the first thing that he has tasted since he turned 21. Ty believes that he can feel whatever made him Höðr going away.
When Gaia returns home, she finds Axl in bed shivering with looks to be a pretty high fever, murmuring repeatedly, "find Frigg." Anders and Olaff are talking at Anders place about the fact that whatever he has brought back from Norway has been confiscated. When Olaff sits on the couch, for the first time he does not look in the least bit like the vital man that we have come to know. We get a flash of Anders in Norway negotiating (read: having sex) with giants, fighting off a dwarf who wanted his hot drink and then finally cutting off a branch from Yggdrasil. Olaff gets upset when he realises that it is not a good idea for Yggdrasil to get fulminated. Anders explains his failure by saying that the women working there clearly hates good looking men. Yet more misogyny. Of course the woman there hates men that can be the only reason why she didn't immediately submit. When they head back to the uncleared goods transitional facility, Anders tries to argue that the branch from Yggdrasil is an extremely rare and important Norse artifact and says that he has someone with him, who will attest to the importance of the stick. When the woman tries to brush him off by saying, "if you and your father," and is then promptly cut off my Anders who replies, "what do you mean my father you dyke?" When he turns to Olaff, it is clear that he has visibly aged. Okay, first of dyke is a slur and that is exactly how he meant it. Keep in mind that this is a show in which only one GLBT character appears and thus far she has only had sex with a woman at the behest of a man. To make matters worse, the person Michele slept with was Axl, when he accidentally temporarily shifted sex for one episode. Anders grabs Olaff and escorts him out.
Olaff says that he feels weird but before they can talk more, Mike calls to talk about the lessening of their powers. Anders says that Olaf looks about fifty and grudgingly admit that he is having trouble with his powers as well. They agree to meet and Anders' and Mike tells him that Axl won't be there. Mike then goes to check up on Axl and Gaia tells him that the fever has not abated and that Axl probably has a virus, which he has to ride out.
Ty shows up at Ander's office looking for Dawn. Ty says that he hopes the fact that the police haven't shown up at his door means that she has changed he feelings about him. Dawn replies that she has thought everything through and realised that she have over thought what happened. Ty asks Dawn to go out and when she asks where, she answers, "anywhere."
When Mike shows up at Anders, he is shocked to see how old Olaff looks. When Anders asks where Ty is, Mike answers, "what's a curse for Olaff, is a gift for Ty." Anders sees this as being selfish, particularly because he believes that Olaff is dying. Mike asks Olaff if the fact that they are losing their powers and he is getting old, has anything to do with the fact that Axl is sick. Olaff answers, "have I taught you people nothing? We are all linked to him by blood, and by spirit. As he rises we rise, as he falls so we fall." When Gaia walks in to check on Axl, she finds him having a seizure and orders Zeb to call an ambulance.

The Almighty Johnsons Season Two, Episode Seven: Effortless Manly Coolness
At Ty's, Olaf and Ingrid are discussing going out but when she finds out that the trip involves a great distance she asks about Danny. Apparently, Ingrid spoke to Olaf about this the night before but because he was drunk and stoned, he has no memory of it. Ingrid says that she promised Danny that she would pick him up, but Olaf is more interested in heading out, so he leaves and Ty follows saying that he has an appointment. They head over to Axl's, where Gaia convinces him to help Ingrid out.
It turns out that Danny was a nurse at the psych hospital in which Ingrid spent time. Ingrid explains that she wasn't actually mentally ill, it was just the Goddess thing. Apparently, having sex was not the only ethical lines they crossed, because Danny and Ingrid stole drugs from the hospital and sold them. It turns out that Danny was actually just released from prison that day and this is why he needed Ingrid to pick him up.
At the bar, Mike and Michele are making out when a man walks in and hands Mike a package. Axl, Danny and Ingrid stop at what appears to be a halfway house and Ingrid says immediately that it is too run down for Danny to stay there. Considering that she does not have a place to live, it's kind of ridiculous that she would snub her nose at free housing. Ty heads off to the hospital to see Michele to talk about dying and coming back without brain damage. Michele wants to know why Ty needs answers to these questions before agreeing to give him an answer. This kind of makes me wonder if New Zealand is somehow lacking the internet? Everything that Ty wants to know he can learn via Google, but I guess that would make too much sense wouldn't it.
Axl takes Danny and Ingrid to Ty's because Ingrid has decided that Ty would have no problem with allowing a complete stranger to stay with him. When Ty returns, Axl makes it clear that Danny has just gotten out of jail, and Ty makes it clear that it's not a good time for him to have visitors. Ingrid promises that Danny will be no bother because he will be in her room, which causes Ty to remind her that it's actually his room. When Ingrid asks if it is alright for her to be there, Ty says yes, but not to bring in whoever she likes. Ty is concerned that Olaf is not aware of Danny, but Ingrid again insists that Danny is the one who needs somewhere to stay.
Ingrid decides that Ty doesn't need her either and gets Axl to drive them to Mike's bar where she promises that she is good to pay for the drinks, just not today. Talk about the sense of entitlement on her. Axl questions how Olaf is going to react when he finds out and Mike responds, "I'm sure he'll roll with it; he and Ingrid had a strange and special relationship." When Michele arrives, Mike leaves the bar to talk to her but before he goes, he asks Axl to get Ingrid and Danny out of there before they start screwing on his furniture.
Michele and Mike start to have sex and she wants to know who the man in the suit was but Mike says that he cannot say and Michele promises to tell Mike about Ty if he makes her come. Ingrid and Danny make their way back to Axl's house. Danny believes that the government is going to make magic mushrooms legal to help people stop smoking. He wants to get in on the ground floor by growing the mushrooms now. Gaia escapes saying that she has night shift.
Ty is coming back from a run when Mike confronts him about Ty wanting to kill himself. He tells Ty that needs him to come to the bar later on to discuss a legal thing. The next morning, Ingrid has made herself at home and is making breakfast but when Axl sees the mess that both she and Danny have created in the living room, he is not impressed. It turns out that the bag that Axl thought was full of garbage, is actually full of drugs and Danny asks him if he wants a cut. It seems that Danny and Ingrid plan to sell drugs to finance the farm they are planing. Axl is enraged and orders Danny to get out. Ingrid grabs her things to leave and Axl tries to stop her from leaving with Danny. Axl believes that Danny has brainwashed Ingrid, because she has completely fallen for the idea of the magic mushroom farm.
At the bar, Stacey says to Michele, "there is a name for when you have sex without consent." Unfortunately, Michele believes that Stacey should just get over it and points out that she was totally into Zeb. Stacey makes it clear that Michele put her under some kind of spell. I am glad that they have finally gotten around to calling what happened to Stacey rape, but she shouldn't be the only one recognizing that what happened to her was a complete violation. Mike and Ingrid enter and Mike says that he has Agnetha's will and that he is the executor of. Mike informs them that to get the money, they have to have a plan which will set them up for the rest of their life. Ingrid asks about the possibility of a farm.
Gaia returns and discovers that Axl kicked out Ingrid and Danny. Axl adds that "Ingrid was in the looney bin" when she met Danny. It's amazing how easily they just throw around ableist language. Gaia believes that this is wrong and says that Axl must save Ingrid from Danny because she is a family friend and Axl is the kindest, smartest and the one who cares the most.
Axl questions how Olaf is going to react when he finds out and Mike responds, "I'm sure he'll roll with it; he and Ingrid had a strange and special relationship." At the bar, Stacey says to Michele, "there is a name for when you have sex without consent." Unfortunately, Michele believes that Stacey should just get over it and points out that she was totally into Zeb. Stacey makes it clear that Michele put her under some kind of spell. I am glad that they have finally gotten around to calling what happened to Stacey rape, but she shouldn't be the only one recognizing that what happened to her was a complete violation. The Almighty Johnsons Season Two, Episode Six: Folkmoot
Ty is fast asleep and what he does not know, is that Colin is in the room with him. Colin starts to speak in ancient Norse and circles Ty's bed leaving fire in his wake. When Colin returns home, Michele is sleeping and he says "wakey wakey, spread your legs, it's time to screw." Michele is not interested and tells him that she is not a whore. When he tells her to behave in the appropriate manner, Michele slaps him across the face.
Ingrid rushes into the living room, which is filled with smoke. We get a flash to Ty waking up to the smoke alarm. He uses his bare hands to put out the fire and says, he's Höðr, God of all things cold and for once it was useful. When Michele looks over his hands, they're pretty badly burned but Ty doesn't feel anything because cold numbs the pain. He suggests that Ingrid move out for her own safety because Loki is trying to kill him. Ingrid says that Gods killing Gods leads to bad places.
In the morning, Colin is not pleased that Ty did not die in the fire. Michele hands him a package that was waiting at the front door. It's a smoke alarm with a note which says, "smoke alarms save lives." Ty goes to Agnetha who says, "Loki can be so unimaginative at times, like he is the only one who knows how to set fire to stuff." Ty is worried that Colin knows what happened to Eva and Agentha points out that if he knew, he wouldn't be after Ty. Agnetha wants to take a crack at Colin and Ty warns her that he does not want things escalating.
Michele goes to see Mike, who is making money on the stock market. When he asks why she is there, Michele says that some people are capable of picking the wrong horse and goes on to add that she has seen the long looks he has given her. Mike counters that he has a strong distrust of Goddess and he does not want to mess up his life with a relationship. Michel responds that she is not interested in a relationship and only wants power sharing and sex. Mike does not see Michele as powerful, though she controls the power of attraction. Michele says that she can make the most undesirable creature, desirable to anyone. Mike decides that if Michele can hook Zeb up with someone that she will have his attention, to which Michele responds, "it's not your attention I'm after." I don't for a moment understand why Michele's power as Sjöfn is in the least bit attractive to Mike.
Colin is having a swim, when Agnetha pops in for a visit. She makes it clear that Ty did not kill Eva and Eva was a head case. She suggests that he needs to accept this and move on. Colin counters replying that Ty is very much still his son in-law. Agnetha goes to see Ty and tells him that he has to stay with her because his house is not safe for him any longer. Ingrid jumps on the offer to move but Ty is not pleased. Agnetha suggests that Ty stay at Anders and that Ingrid stay there to ensure that Colin does not burn Ty's house to the ground.
Michele goes to see Axl's to find Zeb, who is shocked that Michele wants to get him laid. Zeb rushes to bathroom and Axl follows saying that he cannot trust Goddess. As the two are leaving, Agnetha arrives and says that Ty wants him to call a folkmoot. Axl has no idea what it is and so Agnetha informs Axl that Colin has tried to kill Ty and is angry about the death of his daughter. When Axl continues to ask about what a folkmoot is, Agnetha becomes frustrated, until Axl points out that Olaf is his oracle. She tells Axl that she is counting on him to do the right thing by his brother.
Zeb and Michele are outside and he grabs her ass, which causes her to threaten him and say that she wouldn't touch him if he were dipped in chocolate. When Stacey comes cycling along, Michele grabs Zeb and throws him directly in her path. Stacey is not the least bit amused. When Michele whispers in Stacey's ear, she immediately becomes attracted to Zeb and they had back to Zeb's flat. There is no way that Zeb could possibly believe that Stacey's change of attitude was naturally occurring.
At the bar, Axl tells Olaf and Mike about the folkmoot. Olaf starts to give a rambling explanation of what a folkmoot is and in frustration, Mike tells Axl that it is like a court and Olaf throws in that it is presided over by the senior God. Axl has to arrange everything, call all the resident Gods, preside and then decide.

The Almighty Johnsons, Season Two, Episode Four: Death's Cleansing Embrace
After Ty closes Eva's eyes, he leaves the freezer to find Agnetha waiting for him in a jump suit wearing yellow rubber gloves. She suggests that he avoids calling the police and then complains that she has been waiting for him all night. In shock Ty tells her that Eva is dead and Agnetha simply says, "is she?" and asks if he is sad she is dead. When Ty answers yes, she says that it's the shock. Ty realises that Agentha locked Eva in the freezer. When Ty again expresses shock that Agnetha killed Eva, she responds, "someone had to."
When Ty sits in shock Agnetha tells him to keep it short because they have a limited window of opportunity. We are then treated to a flashback of Agnetha killing Eva. She asks if Ty was aware that she was on anti-depressants and we get to another flash to Eva forcing drugs down her throat. She tells him the level of police involvement is up to him and she won't fight or deny what she did but because of what Eva was doing to him, she is proud of her actions. Ty yells, "I was going to leave her. After what she did to Dawn, I was going to leave her." Agnetha shakes her head and responds, "she would never have allowed that." Ty wraps Eva in plastic and puts her body in the truck, and he drives to a park with Agnetha following in Eva's car. When they arrive, Ty unwraps Eva and Agnetha tells him to throw her over the bank. Agnetha quickly packs up and Ty stands for a moment over Eva's body to say he is sorry.
The two drive back into the city and Agnetha tells him that he has to keep calling Eva and leaving messages. Ty promises to call some of Eva's friends and ask if anyone has seen her. Agnetha says that if the police don't find her by the early evening that Ty should call them and report her missing and emphasis her erratic behavior. Ty says that she doesn't have a history of murder but there are a few people who would believes this. Agnetha finishes with the suggestion that Ty avoid calling her in the foreseeable future, to which Ty responds, "I can live with that," before getting out of the car.
Agnetha goes back to the office and talks to Anders. She asks about Dawn and he says that she is a nice girl and not bad if you like your biscuits plain. Agnetha asks if Dawn can be persuaded to do the right thing at the right time and Anders responds, "by me she can, but then most women can." Anders wants to know what she has in mind for Dawn and Agnetha says, "I want her to keep her mouth shut," but before she can tell Anders why, Dawn enters the office.
Ty goes to Mike's bar and leaves Eva a message. He explains that when he got home that Eva was not there. He then goes on to phone Loki who tells him to go away. Olaf and Ingrid enter the bar arm in arm. Olaf looks at Ty and quips about him fulfilling a false prophecy, which freaks Ty out until he learns that Olaf was only joking about Ty being the the guardian of the last beer on earth. Mike hands over two beers and Olaf quips about them being free, but Ty puts money on the bar to pay for them, before leaving saying that he has to find Eva.
When Ty returns, he hears a noise in the freezer and it turns out that it's Colin, who apologises for being short with him earlier. He wants to know where Eva is and says that she was supposed to leave him some venison. Yeah, I though that was weird. He then asks if Eva is cheating on Ty. When Ty says no, Colin again asks where she is. Suddenly there is a knock at the door and it's the police. Colin asks "what's the stupid little bitch done now?" The cop says that they have found a body and Colin and Ty go to the station and identify Eva's body. Colin asks for a moment alone with Ty and as soon as the cop leaves, he attacks Ty asking "what did you do?" Ty says that he did nothing but Colin responds, "no daughter of mine would walk into a forest to fucking die. Eva hated fucking trees and do not lie to me. Do not tell me that it was suicide; no way would she wimp out like that." I have to admit that given Colin's relationship with Eva, I am a touch surprised at his violent response. They begin to circle Eva's body throwing accusations back and forth until Colin says, "you are a dead man," before leaving the room.
At Colin's house, he is ranting in front of Michele. Michel asks if Colin has any actual evidence that Ty killed Eva and he responds, "I looked into his eyes and that is all the evidence that I need." Ty goes to see Dawn at Anders office. She thanks him for getting her home and saving her life in the process. Ty says he is sorry that she got put in that position and says that Eva is dead. Dawn says that she is so sorry and asks how he is doing. Ty answers that he is okay. When Dawn asks what happened, Ty responds that Eva killed herself and that it wasn't because of Dawn. Ty says that he wants to keep Dawn out of it and that though he told the police he was with a friend, he didn't give them her name. Ty says that he has to go and that there are things that need to be organized.
Back at Ty's, Eva's grim followers are holding a vigil playing her music. Mike asks if the police got in touch, and Ty says that they are waiting on toxicology. Ingrid brings over some food and Stacey comes back from the door with a dead wreath. Ingrid tells her that she no longer has to handmaiden Eva because she is dead and points out that she was never really Hel's handmaiden to begin with. Stacey says that she has nothing else to do. When Zeb comes in, he starts checking out the Emo's until Axl points out that it is too soon.

The Almighty Johnsons Season Two, Episode Three: Charlie Truman
This episode begins with Zeb wondering if Mike has grown to like him because he invited him to the opening to his bar, but Axl points out that Mike actually invited him, and he invited Zeb. As with anything involving Gods, Zeb is curious about which Gods will be in attendance, but Axl tells him not to talk about it around the house because Gaia is back. Zeb pushes that aside claiming that because Gaia is a chick that she'll be ages getting ready. Yeah, always nice when the show opens with a touch of sexism. Zeb wants to know if Axl is worried that Gaia will pick up on their God bond, to which Axl responds, "if that is what they have."
Gaia walks into the room and pours a shot of booze and says "lets get messed up." Axl and Zeb are shocked by this and when she walks out of the room, Zeb asks, "is it just me, or has Gaia loosened up since she got back?"
At the bar, Olaf suggests that Mike name his bar after his hall in Asgard, saying that it was the best party of them all. Mike is not impressed and answers that if he names his bar after Olaf's hall that it would be a license for him to drink there all the time. At a table, Axl tells Gaia that it is good to have her back, but she is quick to remind him that she is not back in that way. When Axl asks about what happened between Gaia and Jacob, Gaia makes it clear that she does not want to talk about it. Zeb comes to the table with a few beers and says that Mike does indeed hate him, while in the meantime, Gaia is busy checking out a guy in the bar.
Colin enters in his iconic red suit and Axl is clearly not impressed that he is there. When Mike goes around back to grab a bottle, Olaf uses that opportunity to hop behind the bar and starts pouring free drinks. When Mike returns, he pushes Olaf away pointing out that he doesn't want Olaf to give the bar away. Axl turns to see Gaia having drinks with the man she was looking at. He accuses Zeb of letting some man hit on her and expresses concern that she has just gotten out of a relationship. It's clear that Axl is still very much into Gaia.
At the bar, Colin asks Mike how it feels living every man's wet dream, because of course he now owns a bar. Mike says that it's just a bar, but Colin answers that for Mike it's a calling. Eva and Ty make their way in and Eva shoots Colin the finger and adds, "up your ass." Clearly, these two are still very much estranged. Mike tries to pull Ty aside, but Eva attempts to get in the way, causing Mike to tell her that it is family business that does not involve her.
In a backroom, Axl tells Ty that he looks like shit. This is hardy surprising considering who the poor man is married to - Eva is after all Hel. Ty is not impressed with the intervention. When Olaf asks him how stoned he is, Ty accuses him of judging him. Mike notices the brand on Ty he is concerned but Ty tells him that it's like a love bite. The man is so far gone that he cannot realise that his relationship with Eva is anything but healthy. Zeb rushes in and says that everyone needs to go downstairs right now.
It turns out that Eva and Michele are in a fight and I have to say that Eva is really kick ass. Mike breaks the two women apart and asks Colin for help, but he is not inclined to intervene. In frustration, Mike shoves Eva at Ty and tells him to control his wife. When Eva starts to resist, he throws her into the bar viciously. Eva stands up, spits out a mouth full of blood and then jumps on Ty, and the two start to make out. Silence descends and Zeb says, "that right there is a whole nother level of dysfunction right there." I couldn't agree with him more actually. Michel walks out with her arm around Colin.
Upstairs, Olaf and Mike sit down and Olaf begins to tell Mike the story of Charlie Truman, "the bloke who knew he was going to die." Apparently, Olaf was in the same unit with Truman who was convinced he was going to die and then he stepped on a mine. Olaf says that Truman had embraced his fate long before fate came to him and he points out that Truman had the same look in his eyes as Ty does now. I am glad that the brothers have taken note how dangerous this relationship is for Ty, because far too often, people remain silent not wanting to get involved or cause a scene.
Downstairs, Stacey is behind the bar serving drinks to Ingrid. Apparently, the fact that Stacey is a handmaiden is still making her want to serve. When Zeb asks for another drink, Stacey who is drunk herself, tells him that she is not serving him because he is drunk. Ax approaches Gaia and asks her if she is thinking about heading home, but she says that she is heading to a party and leaves with the man she was making out with.
In the bathroom, Ty and Eva have a man trapped against a wall. She tells him that he is going to walk the line between life and death and then Ty places his hand on him. Axl walks in and realises that Ty is killing the human, so he grabs Tym but when Eva tries to stop Ty from leaving Axl says, "you freaky bitch shut up." Mike hustles Eva and her adherents out of the bar and tells her not to bother coming back. Eva asks about her husband, and Mike answers that they need to talk to Ty for a little bit, causing her to call Mike a prick before storming out.
Mike asks Ty what he was thinking and Ty answers, "they like it - touching death. Eva likes to take them to the edge before we bring them back." Mike tells him that using his powers on mortals risks all of them, but Ty counters by reminding Mike that he uses his powers all of the time these days. Ty says that it makes him tired listening to Mike sometimes and walks out of the bar. Olaf simply says, "Charlie Truman." Mike answers that it is time for a think and when Axl asks what he means, Mike responds, "you'll see."
The next day, Axl is sleeping on his couch when a banging at the door wakes him. When he answers Bryn walks in saying, "I presume that she's here." When he cannot find Gaia, he again asks where she is. Axl says that when she returned, Gaia was upset about something, and he wants to know what Bryn did to her. Bryn says that he loved her, which immediately grosses Zeb out, forcing Bryn to rephrase and add that he cared for her as a father. Bryn again asks where she is and Axl responds, "not here." Bryn decides that he is going to wait there for Gaia to return. Axl tells Zeb that he has to go to a think and says that if Gaia shows up, that he shouldn't allow Bryn to take her.
On his way out, Axl calls Gaia to warn her that Bryn is at the house waiting for her. As Ty leaves his house, Mike grabs his keys and tells him that they are calling a thing and Olaf picks him up and puts him bodily into the truck. I have to say that this is the second time that we have seen how strong the actor who plays Olaf is. Just wow. Ty points out that he has appointments to keep but Olaf says that he is a tradesman and people expect him to be late. As they drive off, Stacey watches from her bike.
They take Ty to play mini golf and Axl is not impressed, but Olaf says that this is what they do while they are doing the thing. Axl again asks what thing, and Olaf says a thing in the old language means a gathering of the clans to meet talk and solve problems. Axl wants to know if the thing is going to take long, but Olaf says it takes as long as it's going to take. As they begin to play, obviously Mike cannot lose. Ty says that he chose this path and that it is his path to tread. Mike responds that should he chose not to tread this path that he will support him. Ty answers that they don't want to go to war with Hel - and not on his behalf. Olaf points out that there are four of them and five if they count Anders. Olaf suggests that they can take her out in a fight but Ty says that he doesn't need them, or Agnetha fighting his fights. Mike points out that even if Ty is fine, which is bullshit, that freezing people for fun effects them all. Axl pipes up saying that he is afraid that Ty is going to kill someone. Ty points out that he feels more alive around Eva than he has in years, but Mike says that he doesn't want Ty to die. Ty asks if he promises to stop freezing people, if they will leave him and alone and Mike promises to do so for now.
When Axl returns to the house, Bryn is still waiting, so Axl says that he will tell Gaia that he was there but Bryn is not happy with this arrangement. Bryn says "I came for my daughter and I'll leave with my daughter." Axl tells him that this is not going to happen and that Gaia has a say in this. Finally, finally, someone brings up the point that Gaia actually might have some agency. Then he says that he will stop Bryn if need be. Bryn reminds Axl that he warned him what he would do to him if need be, and Axl says that he would like to see him try. As Bryn gets up, Gaia walks in and announces, "yes, I'm a slut. See a problem?"

The Almighty Johnsons Season Two, Episode Two: Frigg Magnet
Axl is sitting in a restaurant when he is approached by a woman selling single roses. He tells her that he doesn't want a flower because he is not on a date and is waiting on a guy. Realising how this might sound, Axl quickly makes it clear that he is waiting for his brother. There was absolutely no reason for this scene, and the writers might as well had Axl scream no homo. As soon as the woman leaves, Agnetha enters and Axl is not happy to see her.
At Ty's, he is trying to leave, but Eva does not want him to leave. When she won't give up, he is forced to tell her that Agnetha is his mother. Stacey says, "no way, having that cow for a mother. That is so surreal." Eva reminds Ty that Agnetha walked out on him when he was 14 and suggests that maybe she wants to use him and suggests that he stay there with her. She then handcuffs herself to him saying that he has to take her with him, or take her there and they begin to make out.
Back at the restaurant, Agnetha asks what is wrong with her having dinner with her sons, and Axl reminds her that she tried to have him killed. Agnetha tells him to forget about it and that it is all in the past. She assures him that she really is his mother and is only trying to mend a few bridges.
Zeb and Mike are playing chess and Mike is blindfolded. Zeb cheats and Mike warns him that it is not going to help and asks him what part of God of games he is not understanding. When Axl returns, Mike asks how the dinner that he was not invited to went. Zeb leaves saying that he has experienced anal leakage. Axl admits that Ty probably didn't want him to be there because it was a dinner with their beloved mother. Mike is concerned and reminds him that they agreed to forget about her. Axl admits that Ty didn't show up and he stayed for the free food. He tells Mike that Agnetha wants him to stop looking for Frigg.
In a flashback scene to the dinner when Axl asks if Frigg should come to him, Agnetha agrees. Axl says that maybe Agnetha wants to actually help, unlike some. Mike says that often what people say and what they mean are often different things and points out that he found Kvasir. Axl is not happy with that because all he got was a riddle and Mike points out that this is Olaf's territory. Axl says that he is screwed and that he is looking for a sign that someone knows what is going on with his life.
Axl approaches Ty who is fixing a truck and says that they agreed not to communicate with the woman formerly known as their mother. Ty answers that when he heard her speak, it was like when he was a kid. Mike is not impressed that Ty left Agnetha alone with Axl, and he knows that whatever she wants will end in tears. He demands that Agnetha says to Ty be reported to the whole group.
Axl is back in school and their guest speaker at the lecture is Colin. The professor is in shock as Colin tells the class that being a self employeed builder will lead to bankruptcy
Agnetha shows up at Ty's house and Stacey is not impressed by her. When she learns that Ty isn't there, Eva makes and appearence and tells her that last night that Ty was so happy, he didn't see the point of seeing her. Agnetha says that Ty deserves better than Eva, but Eva counters saying that Ty gets unconditional love from her to the end. Agnetha walks out and calls Ty instead. Ty says that he doesn't think it's a good idea for them to meet, and that she needs to respect that. Agnetha responds that she is looking after Anders affairs while he is away and that Dawn is fragile and weepy. Agnetha digs deeper and tells him that Dawn cares deeply about him and that this is sad for Dawn.
As Colin leaves, Axl follows him to ask if his appearance is a sign. Colin answers that his firm does business with the university and he is just giving something back. When Axl calls him on it, Colin says that it was a message about not messing around with a trade because he could help them all ascend. He tells Axl if he wants to be a God that he should think about becoming a man. Axl answers that is exactly what Kvasir told him, to which Colin replies, "man up to God up." I know that Axl is really simple, but why does he believe a single word coming out of Colin's mouth, when he knows that Colin is Loki and therefore cannot be trusted?

The Almighty Johnsons Season Two, Episode One: And She Will Come to You
Zeb and Mike are sitting on a beach drinking beer and Zeb says, "among all the other weird things, somewhere there's a woman for you." He reminds Axl that Frigg is out there and that he will find her, or his name isn't Frekki. Apparently, Zeb has decided to take that name after he discovered that Frekki, is Odin's lone wolf. Zeb promises to be there for him, unlike his brothers, who are useless for Gods. Axl defends his brothers saying that they're busy and Anders is just useless.
We flash to a scene with Axl asking Anders for help, but he says that he is on a quest and it is on a need to know basis. Anders says he is going away somewhere cold and has grown a horrible beard. When Axl says he needs him, Anders says he takes his good advice and spoons it.
We get a flash to Ty who is busy moving. When Axl tries to remind him that if he dies they die, Ty says, "trust me Axl, you'll out live me." Eva grabs Ty by the arm saying that she wants to christen their new home. Stacey asks what they were doing last night, and Eva yells, "that was the kitchen." Zeb asks if their house warming party will turn into a God orgy.
Zeb feels that Mike has been the most disappointing because he has been to busy hustling people. Axl says that they can find frigg without the help of his useless brothers.
At Axl's, some angry man knocks on his door and it turns out he lost his girlfriend in a bet to Mike. Axl points out that Mike is bringing danger into his house and Zeb points out that he used a woman in a bet he knew he couldn't lose. I really like that Zeb pointed this out to him because it wasn't that long ago that Mike was critical of Anders for using his powers to take advantage of women. Zeb tells him that as God of the Frigg hunt that he is off the team because every time they look for Frigg, they always end up in a bar. Mike says that he needs a scent, a starting point
At Anders office, Dawn answers the phone, and it is Anders saying that he is at the airport and that he needs her to feed his fish. It turns out that Anders is headed to Norway. Anders asks her to tell Ty that he won't be at his house warming party and when Dawn refuses, he points out that she has been stalking him. Anders asks her to stay at his apartment and then hangs up claiming that the plane is about to board. Would it really kill Anders to treat Dawn like she is a person of note considering how dependent is upon her?
Eva and Colin are bickering about the ownership of the house. Colin asks that Ty knock her up so that the hormones will calm her down. I get that Loki is an ass but really, did he have to use sexism? It is however a switch to suggest that pregnancy hormones would level someone out, rather than make them go insane as it were. When Colin hands over the paperwork, Eva looks it over and Colin asks if she trusts him.

The Almighty Johnsons Season One, Episode Ten: Like Jesus, Only Cooler
At the hospital, Axl feels responsible for what happened to Zeb. He sees Ty in the hallway and he stops him to tell him that Zeb is in the hospital because he broke the rules and told him that he is a God. When Axl sees the flowers, he realises that something must be wrong with Dawn. Ty is not very sympathetic and believes that he is suffering more because he loves Dawn more than life itself.
When Axl and Gaia go and visit Zeb, he is covered in bruises and worried that he looks like a freak. Ty goes to visit Dawn and tells her that Axl is getting married and that they cannot see each other anymore. He tells her that it's not her but him.
Back at the flat, Gaia is treating Axl's burns. He tells her that most of her patient must be in love with her and then he admits that he loves her. When she asks why he didn't say so before, he responds that he was afraid of ruining things between them. Gaia points out that it's a bit late, but Axl says that he would change everything to be with her and they share a kiss and end up making love.
At Mike's, Valarie learns about Ty and Dawn breaking up and of course she believes that Ty is a monster. Valarie says that she has to take Rob to the doctor but will talk with Dawn later.
Anders, he is not impressed with what Ty has done because he feels that Dawn will be difficult to live with now. When Axl walks in and sees the fight between Ty and Anders, he says he will talk to them later. A minute later, Dawn walks in and hands Ty back the gift basket and flowers he sent her, saying that when you dump someone, you don't give mixed messages like that before storming out, complaining of being cold.
After Dawn leaves, Axl announces that he is not going to marry Eva. Mike points out that yesterday he seemed determined to go down the marriage path. Axl says that there is someone else now and Olaf points out that she intriguingly, Gaia has a goddess name. Anders however believes that this is simple jitters. In the car, Mike asks again if Axl is in love with Gaia and if he has told Eva. Mike wants to know if Zeb hadn't gone up in smoke, if something would have happened between them. Axl says probably not but this feels right. Mike tells Axl not to worry about any quest, or his brothers and to do what makes him happy.
Anders is dressed in a tux flirting on the phone with Michele. (This man is so damn hot.) Back at the hospital, Axl is visiting Zeb and he admits that he is thinking of skipping the event because of what happened with Zeb. Zeb believes that what happened was his fault and tells him that when he is Odin he can kick their asses. He asks for Axl to put his hands on his eyes and points out that if he were the proper Odin, magic would have happened and he would have been healed.
Mike is getting dressed and Valarie ties his tie. She tells him that she went to the doctors and Rob came with her. It seems that Valarie is six weeks pregnant. Mike does the math and realises that it is not his because they have not made love since Rob came to say. Valarie admits that she slept with Rob on the road trip that they took and that she still loves him. Rather than deal with what she told him, he says he has to go. Gotta point out that this woman has some nerve judging Ty when she was cheating on her husband.
When Gaia walks in, Axl is dressed to go and she is curious to know if this is about his wedding. He says that there is some stuff he has to deal with. Gaia asks if he wants to write off what went on between them. She is fine she says because she does not do affairs. Axl promises to make everything right and Gaia says that she is going to talk to her boyfriend Jacob.
When Axl enters, Anders wants to know how his talk with Mike went. Ty asks when Axl becomes a true God, if he can take away his God powers. When Eva walks in, she makes an instant connection with Ty. Loki makes a toast in old norse and behind him Agnetha walks in. The Johnsons are extremely curious about her. Before Axl can tell Eva that it's over, Colin promises the future couple a BMW and a strip of land on Omaha beach, to build a beach front abode and announces any duties he has regarding his daughter are cut. Eva does not take that well. Outside, the Johnsons brothers are talking about the dowry as they share a spliff. When they return to the party, Eva is hacking at the roasted pig.

The Almighty Johnsons Season One, Episode Nine: Hunting Reindeer on Slippery Rocks
This episode opens with Stacey and Michele getting Eva Gundersen ready to meet Axl. Michele tells her that she is a goddess and that a plan has been laid out for her. Anders gives Axl a credit card, of course the pin number is 6969. Anders even hands over the keys to his apartment, not wanting Eva to see his apartment, hoping that Axl and Eva will have sex that very night, thus bestowing on him his full powers as Bragi.
At the restaurant, Eva and Axl clearly do not have much chemistry. Eva also has daddy issues and considers Axl telling her that she is relatively normal a compliment. At Ty's, Anders wants to know what will happen when they get their powers back. Olaf quickly steers the conversation to Dawn and Ty. He begins with a series of ever more intrusive conversations about what their sex life is like. Ty tells him that Dawn believes that he has problems regulating his body temperature and has to wrap up to sleep. Ty says it's not the ideal relationship, but that he cannot tell her truth because she is at the mortal. What I want to know is why Ty is even answering Olaf's questions to begin with? I don't care how close you are to someone you don't invade their privacy that way.
Before Axl and Eva can share a kiss Stacey shows up. Anders is not the least bit content that things did not go further with Eva, but Axl says that he felt sorry for her because her old man is a bastard and that he is angry about the way she has been treated. This should have been a clue that someting is not right with Eva. If she was really the frigg he wouldn't be feeling pity, but love. When he gets back to the flat, Axl and Gaia both pretend that they don't care that the other is dating.
The next morning Dawn suggests to Ty that they should go somewhere warm on a trip, where he won't need all of the heavy duty sleeping gear. Axl heads over to Colin's house to talk to him about his daughter. When Colin refuses to let him in, he hops the fence and enters the house. When he confronts Colin, Axl tells him to be nicer to Eva and when he won't listen, Axl pulls out the Odin card. Colin is not impressed and how could he be, considering those horrible skinny jeans. Colin chases Axl out of the house with a burning newspaper as Axl screams, "you have been warned." Okay if Axl really is Odin, I think it's about time they gave him some actual powers because as it is, a concussed penguin could take him on in battle and win.
Axl heads over to Mike's, where Olaf explains that Colin is Loki. Axl immediately wants to know if Loki is good or bad and Mike responds, "he tried to set fire to you Axl, what do you think?" At this point, I am starting to believe that Axl doesn't have the common sense that God gave cabbage.
At Eva's, it seems that Stacey/Fulla is taking this handmaiden stuff pretty seriously, as she is vacuuming and cleaning up, while Eva lies on her bed writing what I can only assume is more angst ridden lyrics. When Eva tells Stacey she doesn't have to clean, Stacey says that she has no choice and that she will fit in the handmaiden stuff around her work. Colin shows up at the door to tell Eva not to send Axl back to the house and that he doesn't care if Axl is Odin.
Gaia has the boys cleaning the house for her birthday. Eva shows up and announces that she needs to talk to Axl. She is pissed that Axl attempted to fight he battles for her and because she had Colin exactly where she wanted him - out of her life. Axl does not agree and claims that Colin is still messing with her head. Axl says that he doesn't care if Colin is Loki, if he messes with her, he messes with him. This is a surprise for Eva, because she had no idea which God her father actually was up until that point. Eva realizes that together they will be more powerful than Colin and she suggests marriage. Okay, I get that she has daddy issues but getting married to piss your father off is just so damn cliche. It kind of ruins all the strength that she had shown about Axl's ill fated rescue mission.
When they leave the room, Eva announces that they are engaged and though Gaia congratulates Axl, she is clearly shocked and not the least bit happy. They both arrive at Colin's, where Eva announces their engagement and Colin asks if it is the will of Odin. Colin simply tells him good luck and that he is going to need it. The two then head over to Anders house where he wants to know about the wedding. Eva promises that they will consummate after the wedding.

The Almighty Johnsons Season One, Episode Two: This Is Where Duty Starts
So when we last left the Johnson family, Mike and Valerie were trying to were trying to conceive a child through IVF and Axl had been informed that his quest is to find the goddess Frigg, in order to become a full God. It seems that even if you are a God, things don't always go as planned.
Mike and Valerie learn that their second attempt at IVF has failed. While the doctor is talking to them, Mike zones out and imagines the doctor telling him that his God sperm is not compatible with human sperm and this is why Valerie is not getting pregnant. He blames himself entirely. We get a flashback to when Mike was 21 and first a God. It seems that Valerie didn't start off as his girlfriend's but his best friend Rob, who incidentally is in a coma.
They get a call to come to the hospital and learn that Rob's condition has changed. Every once and awhile a tear rolls down his face, but more importantly he seems to be speaking ancient Norse, the very same language that Olaf did when he zoned out during Axl's entry into his Godhood rights. This disturbs Mike greatly.
In the meantime, Anders is not at all content to allow nature to take its course and has decided that despite Mike's directive that he must get Axl laid. Axl says that he is interested in someone, but Anders tells him to just have sex with her and find out whether or not she is Frigg and then move on. Because the lives of all of the brothers are dependent upon Axl finding Frigg before he dies, Anders is not prepared to wait.
At his office, he looks through model catalogs because he has determined that Frigg must be a model since she is a God. He centers in on an attractive athlete named Carla, in part because she posed for a picture exposing her breasts. What he does not know, is that Stacey, the Goddess Hel has infiltrated his office to keep track of what the Gods are doing. She quickly reports back to Agnetha (the Goddess Freyja) about what is going on. They are quite dismissive of Anders reasoning and make a point of saying that he is not the brightest of Gods. Agnetha decides to beat them at their own game by getting by having Ingrid (who is Snorta the Goddess of Wisdom and Prudence) work on a genealogy to figure out who Frigg really is.
