Cover Review: 2nd February - 6th February

Lady of Integrity (Magnificent Devices #7) by Shelley Adina

Ahh Steampunk. I love steampunk covers. The colours, the London skyline, the dirigible. It’s all so pretty and thematic and this in particular has the perfect sense of time and place with the colour palette. I do so like it. Ok, maybe not quite as much as some others, but it’s still lovely

Voyager (Outlander #3) by Diana Gabaldon

Aha, blandly generic cover of blandness strikes again. This book could be anything, it may as well just have a blank cover. It’s not even mysterious or intriguing or really hinting. At least a big mantitteh displaying Scotsman would give us something to look at and distract us from the awfulness within.

The Originals: The Rise (The Originals #1) by Julie Plec

Book of the TV series - and like every previous one they just take one of the actors and slap them on the cover to ensure that the full weight of the show’s popularity sells the book. Not much more to say, alas.

Angel's Awakening by Akaria Gale

In some ways I think this sums up the book - because we have the possible potential of a story with angels and more - but we seem more focused on her club clothing than her angelic nature (and the book sadly reflects this - her romantic life is way more important than the end of the word). And she looks bored - even she is bored of this book!

Kiss of Steel (London Steampunk #1) by Bec McMaster

OOOOOH STEAMPUNK! Did I mention that I love steampunk covers? The colours, the skyline, the palette that screams Victorian and, of course, the wonderful clothing. Even in this case where the clothing is really excessively sexual, it is still so very beautiful and has such a wonderful Victorian theme. Yes, I’m biased by my loving steampunk covers but it is so very very pretty.
