Orphan Black, Season Four, Episode Two: Transgressive Border Crossing

At the end of The Collapse of Nature, M.K had gotten in touch with Sarah through Art, to warn her that Neolution had discovered where she was and was on their way.  Sarah became frantic and Mrs. S tried to calm her but the reality of their precarious situation became obvious when Kiera noticed headlights coming their way. When we next see Sarah, Siobhan, Kiera and Kendall, they are getting out of truck outside of a comic shop where Cosima and Scott have set up a secret lab to work on Cosima's illness and find out more about their biology. Sarah doesn't miss a beat and is off to find Art to learn as much as she can about M.K., our new elusive clone.

Art tells Sarah all about the Capra case and the fact that once Beth stared something she never let it go.  They decide to look for clues at Beth's place.  Apparently, the rent had been paid for for the year so all of her things are still there and boxed up.  Art explains that the cops were told that the next of kin would take care of it but since Beth doesn't actually have next of kin, all of her stuff remains in her apartment.  In the bathroom, Sarah finds Beth's works and for first the time gets some sense of what Beth was going through.  What I want to know is why Sarah didn't discover the works when she was living there with Paul after assuming Beth's identity? When Art finds a camera, he assumes that it was Paul spying on Beth but Sarah corrects him and says that it was Beth spying on Paul.  They watch some of the video and notice that a pregnant Neolution woman visited Beth.  When Sarah finds the book that Leekie signed for Beth, she decides it's time to drop in on the Neolution Bar.

Though Felix has been avoiding her calls, Sarah decides to pay him a visit and walks right into his bathroom while he is having a shower. Damn, the man cannot even bathe in peace once Sarah decides that she has servant work for him to do. It's particularly irritating that while she tells him that they should have a drink because she misses his face, what she really wants is for Felix to come to her aid. Since she cannot get into the Neolution bar by herself, she expects Felix to enter and then help her sneak in the back door.  Sarah actually has the nerve to look shocked when Felix asks her for money to pay the cover charge to get into the bar.

In the bar, Felix reveals that he has started the search for his biological family and naturally Sarah is not pleased with this. Felix explains that Sarah is connected to everyone and is even related to Siobhan. Do you think that Sarah even invested two seconds of her time to discuss Felix's feelings? Why, of course not, she simply protested that Felix already has a family. Felix hits the dance floor with a guy. I can only hope that for the rest of the season, Felix takes a more assertive stance with the clones he is expected to serve at the drop of a hat.

At the bar, Sarah is mistakenly recognized as M.K. and pulled aside to see a video of man with something in his cheek.  When the item is messed with it explodes and kills its host. Sarah asks about the device, thus alerting the man that she is talking to that she is not in fact M.K. because M.K. is the one who alerted him to the device in the first place. Sarah is forced to run but she does manage to grab the man's phone before escaping.  Sarah uses the phone to discover where the man was planning on meeting M.K. Instead of going back for Felix, Sarah simply sends him a message.  I guess she's done with Felix now that he's served his purpose.

The meeting point is in a laundromat and typical of what has become M.K.'s style, she's not physically in the laundromat but is watching Sarah view CCTV. They chat briefly with Sarah thanking M.K for saving her. M.K. suggests that Sarah go into hiding so that she doesn't end up like Beth but Sarah is adamant that hiding doesn't work.  M.K. takes off when Sarah spots her sitting in a hooptie outside of the laundry.  Before Sarah can leave, the White male and the Black woman from last week enter, and this time they are posing as paramedics. They hold Sarah down, check her mouth and declare that she is not the clone they are looking for. After pulling something out of Sarah's cheek they are actually able to identify her.

Sarah rushes back to the hideout and is in a complete panic.  When Siobhan uses a flashlight to check inside Sarah's mouth, she sees a creature moving. Oh gross.

Onto the other clones.

Helena is actually pregnant with twins.  She has to pretend to be Allison to get healthcare and Donny poses as her husband.  Allison is clearly upset and jealous.  Allison comments to Donny that Helena is eating them out of house and home and is a murderer.  When Donny points out that they've killed people as well, Allison claims that they are different because they have committed manslaughter and not murder.  Yeah, I think Allison's splitting hairs on this one.  Allison is upset that her little craft room has been invaded by Helena, who is not as scrupulous about things being in their appropriate place as her.  Donny tries to pacify Allison by explaining that Helena just wants to be like her.

Orphan Black, Season Three, Episode Nine: Insolvent Phantom of Tomorrow

Siobhan, Felix and Sarah arrive at a bar in England.  They meet with Terry, - the man who helped to find Sarah - at the back.  Siobhan's welcome home from Terry is a gun. Umm are the writers even aware that guns aren't common place in the U.K.? When Terry excuses himself, Siobhan checks out the gun, promising to kill the Castor original once found.

Rudy is undergoing testing by Dr. Coady.  He quickly answers false the first time but is unable to answer the second question.  A frustrated Rudy asks how long he has and Dr. Coady assures him that they will find the original Castor.

Allison's daughter is working on her karate moves and Helena takes it upon herself to show the little girl how to go for the kill.  It's Gracie who stops the gruesome lesson, reminding Helena that they don't do things like that now.  Helena straightens up and says that now that she is a mother, she walks a different path.

Back at the bar, Sarah is learning how she came to be with Siobhan.  Siobhan shows shows Terry the poem that Rachel translated.  Terry cannot make heads or tales of the little poem but he recognizes the number on the bottom, as a number issued to someone who has been imprisoned.  Terry heads off to find a name to match the number.

Allison is setting up Gracie to work at the soap store but Gracie says that she has a doctors appointment this afternoon.  Allison gives Gracie the day off and starts wondering where Donnie is.

Donnie is checking out his wounds from the fight he lost Jason when Allison calls.  Donnie explains his absence in the bed by saying that his sinus was whistling.  Allison gives Donnie his honey do list and the call ends.

Cosima makes herself a coffee and is lost in thought.  Finally, she decides to read through Shay's file. When Shay enters the room, Cosima hides the file and says that she cannot get together with Shay because she has lots of work.  Cosima is extremely distant and it's obvious that Shay is concerned.

There's a knock on the soap shop door and when Donnie heads to the door, he see Lionel. Lionel wants the pills, now that Kellerman is no longer vouching for Allison and Donnie.  Lionel takes the container holding Helena's eggs as ransom, until Donnie and Allison return the pills to Pouchy.

Cosima has gone to see Scott about the file and he assures her that nothing in there says Shay is a spy. Cosima however cannot let go of the fact that Shay saw the book and once asked about Sarah.  Scott reveals that when Rudy showed up, he knew that Cosima is sick.  This does not exonerate Shay because Shay knows that Cosima is gravely ill.  Cosima says that she feels like an ass for putting everyone in danger.

Felix is not the least bit impressed with the English pub food. A group of men approach Siobhan and she introduces them to Felix and Sarah as the band. Apparently, Siobhan used to light the bar up every Friday night and so they cajole her into singing a song.

Terry calls Siobhan and leaves a message saying that he is just around the corner.  When Terry moves further into his room, he finds Ferdinand waiting for him.  It seems that Terry had an understanding with Ferdinand that Ferdinand was to be informed if Siobhan ever came to town. Terry tries to say that he was just about notify Ferdinand and doesn't know the purpose of Siobhan's visit.  Terry is suddenly attacked from behind.

In the meantime, Siobhan has taken the stage and started to sing.  In his apartment, Terry gets the crap beaten out of him, as an emotionless Ferdinand watches.  At the bar, Siobhan is back in her seat with a smile on her face.  When Sarah brings up the Castor original, Siobhan repeats her vow to murder the original, justifying her decision by pointing out that Castor is sterilizing women.  Siobhan decides to give Terry a call but gets no answer because Terry is still being beaten.

Helena is flitting around the soap shop, dancing and singing massively off cue.  Gracie pops in for a moment to say that she is off to her doctor's appointment.  Gracie actually hugs Helena goodbye.

Donnie is sneaking around the soap shop when Helena finds him.  Donnie lies about where his injuries came from and begs Helena not to tell Allison if she calls.  Helena orders Donnie to sit and tells Donnie that she will make the pain go away and then maybe Donnie will tell her the truth.

Cosima is being escorted into Dyad.  Delphine snarks that Cosima is here because now Cosima believes that Shay is a mole for Castor.  Cosima says that she doesn't know if Shay is or not and admits that there are things about Shay that don't line up anymore.  Delphine wonders why she should help and Cosima concedes that Delphine was right about her not being able to avoid Dyad and that she screwed up. Delphine however is not trusting and asks what Cosima is not telling her. Cosima admits that Sarah is in London trying to find the Castor original.  Delphine asks Cosima to leave everything with her.

Helena has created some kind of paste for Donnie, explaining that this is what they used when the nuns beat the demons from them.  Donnie admits that they shouldn't have gotten involved with Kellerman but after losing his job and Allison's desire to run for trustee, he didn't see other options.  Helena is impressed that Donnie did this for his family. Donnie says that he has to return the pills and get their money back.  Donnie reveals that the tank is missing and Helena explains what the tank is for.  Helena demands to know who took her babies and Donnie tells Helena that the people they are dealing with are dangerous.  He actually calls Helena family and asks her to stay out of this.

Siobhan, Felix and Sarah arrive to find a badly beaten Terry.  Terry vows that he didn't tell his attackers anything before dying.  Siobhan grieves for a moment before saying that they should go home because they have lost their advantage.  Sarah argues that Terry said he found something but Siobhan will not budge and orders Felix and Sarah back to the pub.

Outside, Sarah informs Felix that they are not going back because Terry's death indicates that Castor is getting closer.  Having stolen Terry's cellphone, Sarah goes through his contacts and arranges a meeting by pretending to be Siobhan.  They arrange to meet in the square in an hour.  Felix is not the least bit excited by this plan but adds that he has to tag along to know that Sarah is safe.  What neither of them realise is that they are being watched by Ferdinand.

A taxi pulls up asking for Siobhan and after Sarah confirms that's who she is, Sarah and Felix hop into the taxi.

Orphan Black Season Three, Episode Eight: Ruthless in Purpose, and Insidious in Method

Delphine sits in a nail salon getting a manicure by yet another clone - Krystal Goderich. As Krystal gives Delphine a manicure, she tells Delphine about her attack by the Castors and her near escape. Naturally, Krystal has a fear of twins, who she calls creepy.  Krystal while relieved to have been saved, is saddened by the loss of Hector. Krystal is still positive and makes it clear that the human spirit cannot be crushed.

It seems that Dr. Coady somehow managed to survive the explosion and is actually at the same run down bar where Siobhan and Helena, had their little knock down drag out fight. Coady shares a drink with David, in which mourns the loss of the DNA because it means that the Castor boys don't have long to live.  David thinks to ask about Rudy, and is informed that Rudy is out in the field.  David informs Coady that he has a mole inside of Leda and reveals that if she can keep the Castors alive, he will get what they want.

Finished with her manicure, Delphine reports to Nealon that Krystal is still naive and has not pieced the Castor puzzle together. Nealon reports that Rachel still has value but Delphine believes that Rachel is a liability.

Cosima and Sarah are doing the skype thing and talk about what happened on the compound and Sarah's ability to survive the Castor sexually transmitted disease.  Sarah suggests that she be used as treatment for Cosima's relapse but Cosima says that Delphine has teams which are working on gene therapy. Sarah then questions where Cosima is and Cosima simply says at a friend. When Sarah pushes for more, Cosima reveals that things are good and are exactly what she needs right now.  Sarah says that she need a way forward because they are always a step behind. Sarah brings up Beth, and Cosima reveals that Beth is also on her mind.  Sarah doesn't want to lose another clone.  Cosima ends the call when Shay arrives but suggests that Sarah call Scott to find out what they have been working on.

Felix has delivered Helena to Donnie and Allison and naturally, Donnie is not pleased with yet another addition to his household.  Allison asserts that they need to play their part and Felix argues that Helena simply needs a little bit of socializing. Yeah, well that's an understatement if I've ever heard one. In the meantime, Helena is with Allison and Donnie's daughter and she kisses the container holding her fertilized eggs.  Donnie demands to know why Helena cannot live with another one of the clones but Felix makes it clear that if Donnie does not agree to this, he will let the cat out of the bag about the drug dealing.  Helena makes her way downstairs wearing Allison's clothing and just looks plain odd.

Cosima lies on her back while Shay performs Reiki. Cosima asks if Shay knows anything about near death experiences and Shay says that before people die, people see who they love and if it's strong enough, sometimes people find their way back. When Shay points out that Cosima is late for work, Cosima asks Shay to come along and see the secret lab.

Sarah is doing the skype thing with Scott and learns about the book and the fact that not only is Rachel the only one who can decipher it, Rachel refuses to do so unless she talks with Sarah. Scott confirms that Delphine doesn't know anything about this but suggests that maybe they should trust Delphine.  Sarah however does not agree because with the book, Leda could restart human cloning.

Delphine goes to see Rachel, and is not happy to see that Rachel is improving.  Rachel realises that she is a threat to Delphine.  The moment Delphine leaves the room, Scott swings the camera to Rachel ,so that she can talk to Sarah.  Sarah asks about the book and Rachel is insistent that the book is hers and that her father left it to Kiera, so that the clones would cooperate. Rachel agrees to translate if she is allowed to disappear to Taiwan.  Sarah however points out that dead woman cannot pass customs, so Rachel brings up Krystal Goderich.  Rachel wants Sarah to steal Krystal's identity and get her out of Dyad and as proof that she can do what she promised, Scott reads the page which Rachel translated.

S and Sarah talk about whether it's a good idea to save Rachel, and Felix confirms that Cosima and Scott can get Rachel out of Dyad.  S however has her doubts and points out that if they break out Rachel, it will end the alliance with Delphine. What none of them realised is that Gracie was listening into the whole argument. Felix and Sarah decide to take a little road trip to get Krystal's information.

Cosima is showing Shay around the lab and introduces her to Scott.  Scott then confirms with Cosima that they are good to go on the Rachel situation.  When Shay finds the Dr. Moreau book on the shelves, Cosima is quick to take it away from her and Scott puts it in his bag.  Delphine enters and finds Shay with Cosima.  Delphine asks for a moment with Cosima and Cosima excuses herself saying it's work stuff.  Scott agrees to see Shay out.  Delphine makes it clear that her security concerns are not jealousy because as a French woman, she enjoys lovers.

Donnie is making soap as Helena watches.  Helena tells Donnie that Allison has good taste in men and that he is "strong like baby ox." Am I the only one who went eww at this?  Donnie is clearly flattered with the flirting and leaves Helena with the soap to talk to Allison.  Donnie brings up the kiss between Jason and Cosima and Allison promises to clear everything up.

Gracie shows up for her first day of work at the candle store and is surprised to see Helena. Gracie reveals that she had a miscarriage and Helena tells Gracie that she can be an aunt to her child, absolving Gracie of responsibility. Helena hugs Gracie, kissing her on the cheek and all I think is AWKWARD.

Felix and Sarah arrive at Krystal's nailshop and it seems that Felix is going in for the sting.  Sarah is determined that Krystal stay ignorant about clone club.  Felix enters and drops his British accent saying that he has an appoint for a manipedi.

Scott has returned home to find Rudy holding his cat.  Rudy comments on Scott's sci fi collection, adding that he is interested in getting The Island of Doctor Moreau.

Orphan Black, Season 3, Episode 7: Community of Dreadful Fear and Hate

To Mexico where Helena and Sarah are on the run from the Castor base and Helena is… Helena. It’s a Sestra holiday trip, though Helena realises that Sarah is upset about Paul. They’re also relying on S’s people to get them out which is going to be a problem because Helena intends to kill S. The bar tender also brings Helena water not beer because she knows she’s pregnant – though Helena doesn’t know how. Wondering can wait because S arrives which means Helena goes to killing mode.

Killing is delayed for talking (explanations and threats anyway, sort of talking). Creepy bar tender also knows enough to take sharp objects off Helena. Can someone please pay attention to/explain this woman? Bar tender tells Sarah to leave Helena and S to talk it out (Helena will eat first, then they fight. Because Helena) being cryptic and wise and definitely creepy.

Having eaten, Helena wants to fight. S refuses (citing Helena’s pregnancy with a brief diversion as to what Helena’s plans are) and Helena hits her. S responds that Helena can’t have Sarah without the rest of her family – and Helena hits her again. S appeals that they’re family. And Helena hits her again – this time S hits back then instantly regrets it, and hugs Helena. Helena struggles but S hugs her into submission while apologising.

Shay and Cosima are enjoying some quality naked time when Delphine arrives. Awkward. Delphine and Shay are icy, Cosima and Delphine are snarly with a side of icy and Delphine tries to be uber professional (while Shay doesn’t reassure me that she’s not evil by eaves dropping from the shower). She wants to do more testing of Cosima because of the Leda/Castor defect/disease/nastiness and her last results which suggest Cosima is not yet out of the woods.

Cosima also calls Scott so she can arrive late for work – despite him being worried about her illness as well, and wanting her to see if she can get Rachel to decode Ethan’s book (Rachel scares him. And rightly so) – and just to confirm the rift, Cosima insists Scott not show Delphine the book.

Over to Allison, her plot lurking in the outer reaches of this show and still barely connected to everything – but this week free from underwear clad dancing. Allison is preparing her campaign, while doing so Donnie is still monitoring Allison for Dyad which is peculiar but at least with her knowledge. She’s as ever, super busy with campaigning and drug dealing and organising their legitimate front for the business.

Step 1 of this is to see Connie, Allison’s mother, and convince her to sign over her shop. She wants to retire, she also makes several arch little knife-digs at both of them – she even has a campaign poster for Marci, Allison’s competition. Allison becomes much more understandable.

Still mummy delays which means a minor wrench in the drug dealing plans when they meet Jason (jealous Donnie pulls a “MAH WOMAN!” move which is rapidly getting old). Scott goes with Jason with money while Allison goes to the school to campaign

And Felix joins her. Of course he does. The chances of Felix remotely caring about this election are less than none, but while Sarah’s in Mexico and Cosima’s got a date and Grace seems to be holding her own, it’s Allison’s turn with the Gay Best Friend. The set up the booth, Felix on side to be a good little servant and Marci drops in to be nasty in that oh-so-polite way. Then not-so-polite homophobia.

There’s other dramas –like Cosima wanting Allison’s urine (add it to the to-do list) and Connie calling saying she’s having heart attack. Allison is unconcerned, apparently this is a habit of her mother’s but she still has to leave Felix in charge of her stall while she goes to sort her mother out.

When she arrives at her mother’s she’s recovered from her panic attack – but she can’t sell the soap shop. After a big airing of a whole load of issues, Allison leaves.

Orphan Black, Season 3, Episode 6: Scarred by Many Past Frustrations

Sarah has several creepy dreams, including Rudy transfusing blood from him into her, and wakes up. With a bandage on her neck suggesting it wasn’t all a dream

Kira is on an iceberg somewhere with Cal where they eat salted fish and skyping with Mrs. S and Felix who try to pretend Sarah is all fine and dandy and everything’s good despite her being missing. Sadly the only research S has managed to drag up is that Sarah is in Mexico somewhere. Gracie’s also around serving tea so she’s not dead.

Cosima wakes up in bed, half naked with an equally half naked Shay being all cute and couply – until Shay asks who Sarah is. Cosima is instantly suspicious that Shay would even know who Sarah is but Shay says Cosima said her name in her sleep. Cosima calls Sarah her friend, like a sister, a wilder version of her.

Cosima goes to work and finds who has been calling hr all morning: Scott warning her that Delphine is back. Set the hostility to max. Cosima isn’t happy, nor is Delphine since Cosima had a Castor brain and Gracie without telling anyone. Delphine has found something in their research though – theirs a unique protein in both the Castor brain (Seth’s brain) and Gracie.

Cosima and Delphine continue to be icy and the temperature drops a few more notches when Felix brings Gracie to the Leda base. They take her for more testing while Felix demands Scott takes him to Rachel.

Paul, having found the creepiest of creepy little black books, takes it (along with its locks of hair and descriptions of women the Castor clones have slept with) to his boss. His boss suggests there may be a non-awful explanation for this. I challenge him to imagine two. Or one. Seriously these books can never be not creepy. Paul isn’t putting up with these excuses – it’s unsanctioned research on civilians and naughty. His boss still demands proof.

Paul returns to the compound to find Sarah extremely sick in the hospital wing; she tells him that the Castors are experimenting on her (really Paul? You didn’t expect this?) Sarah is sure to tell him that a terrible person he is which he thoroughly deserves. When Virginia arrives she also tells them she’s set Rudy after Helena.

Poor Rudy.

Helena didn’t return for Sarah – she is on the run in the desert, Rudy chasing in a jeep. Helena nearly collapses from exhaustion – she’s hungry. So she eats Pupok, her hallucination scorpion.

I… well… behold Helena. Did I mention “poor Rudy”?

Paul questions the doctor about what was done to Sarah and the doctor points out how much has changed while Paul wasn’t paying attention. He tells them about the testing of the hair of the women the Castor clones have “intimate encounters with”. There’s a whole bunch of secret research only Virginia has. So Paul turns to Mark, the only Castor clone with something vaguely, possibly resembling humanity

They examine Virginia’s research even as, in Dyad, Cosima examines Gracie. Separately they both come up with the same conclusion – the Leda disease (which was killing Cosima) and the Castor disease (which killed Seth) are actually the same disease and in the Castor’s it’s an STD: so the women who sleep with Castor men die of the same disease which was killing Cosima (the disease targets women’s ovaries and men’s brains which… is… odd?).

Orphan Black, Season 3, Episode 4: Newer Elements in Our Defence

Sarah just saw Bonnie, scary Prolethean lady, apparently shoot Mark. Sarah wants none of that, especially not with the ominous music playing, she hides and runs, grabbing Mark’s pistol on the way. In the cornfield she finds Mark – wounded and bleeding but still alive (seriously Evil Bonnie, you couldn’t manage a lethal shot at that range?). She decides to help him, something even he doesn’t understand and drags him away before the cultists can find them (which means the cultists are just damned lazy, to be honest. Cults just can’t get good help these days).

Sarah takes Mark to safety where they have to get the bullet out of his leg for REASONS (bullets are not generally radioactive poison factories that need removing from the body RIGHT NOW or, even, at all for that matter – but you do have a good chance of causing a load of extra damage rooting around for them in amateur, non-sterile surgery). So time for the wound to be cut open with a dirty knife and Sarah to shove her unwashed fingers into Mark’s leg. If you wanted to kill him there are less cruel methods (oh wait they pour vodka on things which makes it all ok). Points for “stick it in fast it won’t hurt,” “god you must be one hell of a first date.”

He tells her all he knows and how the Castors are raised in a very different way to the Leda clones (they’re all raised together with no outside contacts). He also tells her about the stash of “junk” which is all they got from Johanssen, which Sarah is very interested in because she knows what treasures can lurk in this junk. When Mark passes out she leaves with his key –but calls an ambulance for him. Of course this puts Mark back on the Castor radar.

At Felix’s Cosima is spending her time working on the confusing science left by Ethan in the book he gave Kira and pining after Delphine. Felix, recognising his eternal role as providing comfort and support to everyone around him quickly diagnoses this and moves in to help like a good little servant. He takes her drinking so she can unload and introduces her to online dating.

Sarah finds the box of junk Mark had and sees that Johanssen was Ethan Duncan’s (the guy who started Castor and Leda going) lab assistant. Since it’s all science she calls Cosima to bring her up to date and connect the dots. Reading the books it’s clear Johanssen used what he stole from Ethan to make his own clone; basically they’re not looking for tissue samples Johanssen may have on ice from the Castor original, they’re looking for a clone, Johanssen’s son – and the woman who carried the child. Sarah finds a picture –it’s Evil Bonnie, pregnant.

Over to Evil Bonnie - she and Grace return to the Creepy Cult – they have a whole new centre now and a new host: Mr. Appleyard. He is extra specially creepy and the cult has already set the creepy bar high. He uses the excuse of being blind to grope her and obsess about her clone baby.

Except Gracie starts feeling severe pain – and she starts bleeding. They decide urgent prayer is needed which, unlike actual medical attention, doesn’t actually do anything and Grace miscarries. Evil Bonnie, being Evil, blames it all on Grace because EVIL SINNER! She banishes Grace as the only reason they welcomed her back was for the baby. Evil Bonnie is not a nice lady.

Mark doesn’t end up in hospital – he follows Sarah back to the motel and holds her at gun point (which is kind of like a whole family ritual now). Mark knows about this missing Castor son of Johannsen’s – but it died as a baby. They go to the grave of Abel Johanssen. Yay Sarah time to dig up a dead baby – she’s not having the best night. While doing so she explains to Mark her connection with Helena and excuses a lot of what Helena has done due to the way she was raised. She also keeps calling Mark “brother”

But he passes out from his injuries just as Sarah unearths the baby body and scar-faced Castor shows up. He may get another scar since Sarah whams him in the face with a shovel. Cat and mouse game follows in which this Castor shows that he is the creepiest Castor of all – but just as he catches Sarah Mark shows up and orders him to stand down. Seems Mark outranks Creepy – and Creepy Castor tries lots of threats and bravado but ultimately won’t kill his big brother. They take the box – but they also consider Sarah a loose end.

Orphan Black, Season One, Episode Two: Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis

Neelan heads downstairs and finds a dead body in a pool of blood.  He gets on the phone and says, "there's an issue."

Castor scar (Rudy) slips into an apartment with a drunken woman.  She double checks if Rudy is actually a special forces soldier and he brings her a drink, assuring her of his identity. Castor mustache (Seth) takes his place and removes her coat.  When she turns around, Rudy is back.  The woman lies on the bed and starts making out with Rudy and this leads to sex.  Seth enters the room and starts taking off his clothing.  When she opens her eyes, she finds herself in bed with both clones.  The woman says that this is not what she signed up for.  Rudy explains that they're brothers and were taught to share.

Sarah is walking down the street with Kira and Cal (yes, sexy love interest is back). Sarah reports that Delphine is in Europe covering Rachel's business and has assured her  that Dyad is off her back.  Sarah wants to call Cosima but Cal has something he wants to show her.  It seems that Cal acquired a place and Sarah questions how he is going to live in city considering that he is a lumberjack.  Cal questions if there is anything about this Sarah likes and she says yes.

Seth has fallen asleep on the couch and he wakes when Rudy pours water on him.  The two brothers joke around until there is a knock at their door.  Of course, it's Paul, so the Castor boys go into military mode.  Rudy is not pleased with the freedom that Sarah has and snarks about how well Paul knows her. Paul decides to do some new age testing on the Castor boys which Seth fails.  Rudy tries to cover for his brother, saying that Seth is tired, adding that they drank last night.  Paul is not convinced and drops extraction orders on the table.  Seth says that they aren't done and haven't found the original sample but Paul simply gives them their travelling orders. Rudy questions if the orders are coming from Paul or the mysterious Mother but Paul is not in the mood to answer questions, so orders them to clean up and clear out. Rudy and Seth are ordered to return to base.

Scott shows up at Felix's where he tells Cosima that her bloodwork is extremely encouraging, though she will need an MRI. Scott tells Cosima that while the numbers are great, he cannot explain them. Cosima says that she's open to perspectives on the void and suggests that they get back to the lab. Scott says that while Nealon is twice the researcher that Leekie was, he doesn't trust him.  Cosima points out that Delphine put Nealon in charge.  Nealon wants a meeting this afternoon and Cosima confirms that she will be there.  Felix hands Cosima a new clone phone and she hands him her old one.

At soccer practice, Allison and Donny watch as Marci Coates gives an interview and Allison declares that she is not going to allow Marci to put their kids in "ghetto." Really Allison? That's a bit much even for you.  Donny points out that it's just the next district but Allison starts to ramble about the quality of the playgrounds. Donny reminds Allison that they cannot afford a campaign until he gets back up on his feet, adding that they might have to sell the house.  Allison brings up the corpse buried in the garage and Donny does the whole "team Hendrix down but not out."  Marci waves at Allison.  Allison is then approached by Ramon, who reports that half of his clients are soccer moms.  Ramon questions if Allison is still clean and when she says yes, Ramon confides that he is getting out of the business.  When Ramon walks away, Donny returns to question who Allison was talking to.  Allison calls Ramon an opportunity.

Cal, Sarah and Kira are playing floor hockey in Cal's new home.  It's cute and very sweet.  Sarah gets a call from Art, who is back on the job.

Art tells Sarah that a woman reported an incident at a hotel last night.  Art holds a picture of Seth and Rudy and tells Sarah that they look like Mark.  Sarah asks about a mustache and a scar and if they hurt the woman.  Art confirms this.  When Sarah asks for more information, Art tells her that he has to go, promising that they will get into details later. Sarah tells Cal about the escaped Castor and he begs her to stay but she is insistent that she has to go because Castor has Helena.  Cal is worried about Kira, saying that he will do anything for her.  Sarah and Cal share a kiss. It's kind of bittersweet because there's no way these two are going to get a happy ending.

Helena is dragged into a room by armed men including one Castor, dressed in military clothing. Helena is then waterboarded. Is Helena ever going to catch a break? They quickly take samples from her and are about to start the waterboarding again when Dr. Virginia Cody enters and stops the test, announcing that Helena is pregnant. Cody helps Helena to sit up and tells her to just be still, adding that she is happy to meet Helena.

Felix is making tea for Mrs. S, who is clearly in rough shape.  Felix assures S that Sarah will come around but S is worried that she has lost Sarah and Kira for good.  S is worried that despite all she has done that she has not made Sarah or Kira safe.  Felix encourages her to do something about it and gives her a clean clone phone.  S claims that she has no use for it and Felix is adamant that she doesn't get to sit this one out.

At the Dyad institute, Scott and Cosima have arrived for their meeting with Neelan.  Neelan reports that Cosima is doing well and now they are going to make treatment choices together.  Cosima brings up the Castor clone who escaped and Neelan claims that it was supposed to be his first order of business.  Scott brings up the original genome, claiming that it would solve everything and questions if it was really destroyed.  Neelan claims to want the source material as well but says that thanks to the Duncans, it's lost to them. Apparently, Leda started as a military experiment under the guidance of the Duncans and when the military shut down the project,  Dyad recruited them.  The Duncans took the location of the original donors to their grave and Lyda believed that Castor was unsuccessful.

Orphan Black Season Three, Episode One: The Weight of This Combination

Helena dreams that she is having the most bizarre baby shower you can imagine.  In attendance is Cosima, Sarah, Alison and Kira.  Cosima is pretty much healed and Alison is in the throes of a Martha Stewart fixation, presenting a ridiculous amount of cupcakes.  It's Felix who mans the grill.  The dream shifts to a scorpion crawling out of Helena's dress and slowly climbing her body.  It's the switch that causes Helena to wake up and find herself in some sort of shipping crate with air holes. When Helena manages to get a glimpse outside of the air holes, she sees some sort of cell.  Helena begins twisting and turning banging on the crate and when she moves to her side, she sees the scorpion.  The scorpion tells Helena to relax because she is being tested again and this time, she is carrying a child.  Helena tells the scorpion that she was taken from her sisters.

At the Dyad building, surgery is being performed to remove the pencil from Rachel's eye.

Sarah, Kira and Felix are sitting outside together near some sort of river.  Felix sends Kira off to see if she can find some fish. Sarah tells Felix to enjoy this moment, pointing out that Marion is covering from them.  Felix however believes that this is far from over. A car pulls up carrying Delphine.

Later, Delphine shows them a video of one of the Project Castor clones.  Sarah is quick to say that the male clones are not her problem. Delphine however disagrees, pointing out that Rachel has powerful friends and Sarah put a pencil in her eye.   Delphine goes on to say that there are threats to Leda (female clones) from outside and within, adding that Marion sent her to keep her sister safe.   On the tape, a Castor clone is seen making out with yet another Leda clone - Crystal.  The two head to an apartment, as another Castor clone makes his way towards them.  Fortunately, the Leda clone lived and they managed to capture one of the Castor clones. At this point, the Castor clone has not revealed his name and says that he will only talk to Sarah.

Sarah goes to the Castor cell snarking and asking if he has a serial number.  The Castor clone calls Sarah one of the good ones, adding that Crystal had no idea what she was made of.  The Castor clones asks Sarah to move closer so that he can whisper it to her.  The Castor Clone snarks that Sarah is with Dyad now and goes on to bring up Felix, Mrs. S., and Kira.  This causes Sarah to get out of her chair and threaten the Castor's life.  Delphine orders Sarah pulled out and the Castor clone tells Sarah to count on her sisters.

Unsurprisingly, Alison is at a kids soccer game when she gets the call about the Castor clones.  Alison declares that any boy clone who crosses the Hendriks will get their butt kicked. I believe her to, given what she did to Donny.  Sarah asks about Felix and Felix says that he is doing fine hanging out with Cosima. Felix reports that Cosima's temperature is nearly down to normal and that Helena has not shown up and her bag is missing. Sarah asks Felix to meet her at S's.  Sarah starts to leave but Delphine argues that they have other priorities.  Sarah orders Delphine to go and see Cosima but Delphine reminds Sarah that she warned her about a threat from within.  Topside is sending someone to assess the security risk posed by Sarah and her sisters and that the man who is coming is a cleaner.  Delphine adds that the man cannot find out what they did to Rachel.  It seems that Delphine wants Sarah to play Rachel.   Sarah however tells Delphine to handle it and leaves.

Alison is shepherding the kids onto a school bus when she is approached by Marci Coates, who is seeking her support in her run for school trustee. Marci claims that she is inspired by Alison's recovery, calling Alison a community leader.  Marci then suggests that if Alison does some campaigning, she could help provide Alison's monthly potluck.  Alison however makes it clear that since the changes Marci has in mind would mean that her kid's would have to change schools, her plan is to run against Marci.

Donny makes an appearance carrying his personal belongings.  It seems that he told his boss off. Donny reports that he called his boss a bitch but Alison orders him to be quiet because people are watching.  Donny is forced to join Alison on the bus because it seems that he no longer has his company car.

Mrs.S enters her home, walks straight into the kitchen and grabs a knife.  A man who was hiding in the closet jumps out at her and the fight is on.  Of course, it's one of the male clones. Mrs.S does manage to stab the clone in the leg but she loses the fight and finds herself tied to a chair. Mrs.S says that Major Deardon agreed that she would be left out of this but the clone responds that he is not under the major's orders and demands to know where Duncan is now.  Mrs.S then responds that Duncan is dead, and the clone asks about the research before attacking her again.

Delphine checks on Rachel and is informed that it's too early to detect what damage was done to her frontal lobe.  Delphine and Dr. Nealon end talking about the last time Topside took action on Leda  determine that Sarah must not uncover Helsinki.  It seems even Rachel doesn't know what happened.  Delphine asks Dr. Nealon to put Leda about it's individuals and Nealon makes it clear that neither of them can afford to play favourites.

Mrs. S regains consciousness and Sarah and Felix minister to her.  Felix demands to know why there are two boy clones in one day and what they want.  Mrs.S responds that this one wanted Duncan and all of his research.  Mrs. S reveals that she made a war time decision; the only way to get Sarah out of Dyad.  Sarah realises that Mrs. S is the reason Helena was taken. Sarah becomes enraged, screaming that this was not Mrs.S' decision to make. Mrs.S reveals that it was Paul's demand and that she had to choose.  Sarah starts to leave and Mrs.S' calls out for Sarah not to turn her back on her people but Sarah tells Mrs.S that she is not her people and leaves.  Mrs.S asks Felix to go after Sarah to stop her from making it worse but Felix is more concerned with getting Mrs.S to a hospital, adding that there is no doubt that Sarah is going to make it worse.

Orphan Black, Season 2, Episode 10: By Mean Which Have Never Yet Been Tried

In an extremely traumatic, powerful scene, Felix breaks down over losing Kira while Mrs. S and Sarah argue about what to do until Sarah hugs Mrs. S. This is all cut with Sarah undergoing an invasive set of questions and examinations. She cries as the questions are really invasive –whether she’s had an abortion (yes), when she first had sex (14-15) and lots of details of her sex life. For Kira, Sarah has given herself up to Dyad.

Afterwards she meets Dr. Nealon, the doctor who does all the creepy nocturnal examinations on Beth and Allison. Using Kira, they coerce Sarah into signing a consent form to harvest her eggs.

Sarah is allowed to see Kira –but only on camera, watching Rachel trying to turn Kira against Sarah with very obvious threats if Sarah doesn’t do as she’s told.

Kira is getting her own examination – but she’s a clever clever child and steals the nurse’s mobile phone. She uses it to call Cal.

In Cosima’s lab, Dr. Nealon is moving in there as well, having all his goons taking away their samples and research (and the bone marrow) and informing Cosima that he is her new doctor. Delphine is not – she is being separated from the clones, as Rachel informs her and Rachel won’t even let her say goodbye to Cosima. Rachel tries to play the “it’s not personal” and Delphine strikes back “I love her and if you let her die without me, it’s personal.”

Delphine isn’t taking this lying down – she emails Cosima Rachel’s itinerary and Cosima pretends to co-operate with Dr. Nealon so she can help Sarah.

Further in the “oh Dyad you made far too many clever enemies” category, Mrs. S talks to someone about making a car bomb and she’s joined by Cal. Felix vouches for him (Mrs. S is ready to lecture about keeping secrets, Felix is ready to take that mammoth hypocrisy and send it back).  Cal has done loads of digging into Dyad and he’s really really really good at it. He’s found a contact on the inside of Dyad still digging for information. Mrs. S gives him permission to use her name to encourage him – Siobhan Sadler (I have a little silly moment over her having to correct his spelling) and the insider tells him to ask her about Castor; she says Cal’s not the only person with an inside man. (Whoever designed Project Leda loved their mythology – Leda has twin boys, one human – Castor).

And then Felix gets a call from Arthur – Helena has showed up at his flat (and is eating everything). Felx is despatched to Helena sit and they ask her if she’s responsible for burning down the Prolethean ranch (no, of course not she declares with a really really really awesome evil grin). We get a brief cameo of Grace and Mark running off together deciding that if they are sinners god can deal with it.

Sarah runs into Ethan, clearly also a prisoner at Dyad, who tells her not to despair. Despair, Ethan? I’ve seen the people teaming up against Dyad, I’m rubbing my hands with evil glee.

Mrs. S goes to meet someone in a military Humvee (did I mention the rubbing my hands with evil glee?) She’s searched for weapons and then gets to meet Paul – that is Major Paul – who is willing to play double agent. Since we learned he was involved with Tony’s minder a few weeks ago and is up to more shenanigans. Mrs. S brings her insider (Paul) to meet Cal’s insider – Marion. As Mrs. S says, there are good people in even the most  corrupt places. Paul passes Marion a file.

Rachel, who doesn’t realise just what is arrayed against her, is trying to use tea and childhood video to convince Ethan to give up all his codes to Dyad. He’s already given them the sequence to heal Cosima, until they cure her he’s giving up nothing else. When Rachel refuses – offering only to “talk about” curing Cosima if Ethan gives up more info which doesn’t sit well with him. Ethan points out how very very VERY complicated his code is that he’s memorised the key to breaking it (he can recite pi to 6,000 places apparently. He has the memory for it), there’s no hard copy. He tries to crack into not just the memories she’s showing him, but the emotion behind them. She denies remembering the emotion – and then notices that Ethan isn’t doing so well. He’s drunk poison. Rachel’s icy reserve shatters – she emotionally and powerfully demands he not leave her again. She cries and wails while he tells her she doesn’t deserve him any more.

Ouch. Wow, if she didn’t have issues before that emotional bomb shell should shatter her.

Cosima visits Kira, neither of them interested in dolls – instead they enjoy SCIENCE (which gets all of Kira’s adorable enthusiasm). This is cut by her and Scott doing something nefarious with their own science brains – but Cosima is weakening and can’t go on (despite determination because Sarah and Kira need her). Scott offers to do it – with a security card he’s stolen.

Orphan Black, Season 2, Episode 1: Nature Under Constraint and Vexed

Sarah is on the run – the clone masters have taken Mrs. S and Kira. Sarah runs into a diner and starts to call people – but Allison and Cosima’s numbers have both been disconnected. With few other options she calls Paul – his phone is working but he’s not answering. What she does have from her various adventures is an old photograph of 2 professors who worked on “Project Leda.”

Her phone rings from Paul – but it’s Rachel on the other end (that would be Evil Corporate Clone) who will give up Mrs. S and Kira – but only if Sarah gives herself up. And two goons enter the diner to campaign for free ranged eggs and try to make Sarah leave. Awesome Diner guy isn’t best pleased with someone kidnapping poor Sarah in his own diner – and he has a shotgun to express his displeasure with. There’s a firefight, goon 1 dies and goon 2 loses Sarah when she manages to batter her way through a wall to escape

She’s determined when she wants to be.

She makes her way to a gay fetish rave (because this is Orphan Black) where Felix is wearing arseless chaps, preparing for a 5 way (but not very preparing because while sex may be his major obsession after serving clones, he doesn’t get to actually have any) and high on something. Sarah chews him out for not being on call when she needed him. So, after Felix points out they’re probably tracking her phone she gets one more call from Paul (who is not exactly with the bad guys willingly) where she agrees to meet him, alone once she calls him on another phone. To that end, she steals one.

Delphine and Cosima are staying at Felix’s place because he’s now running Hotel des Clones, apparently. Delphine takes some of Cosima’s blood to help treat her ailment and she’s still trying to get Cosima on Team Dyad with Dr. Leekie the very-creepy as well as to convince Cosima Delphine is on her side (together that makes for a hard sell). Cosima isn’t sold yet and makes it clear that news of her and her blood samples do not reach Dyad – she gets to make the choice.

Sarah dispatches Felix to see Allison to both fill her in on what happened and to borrow a gun. Because suburban housewife Allison can get guns? If your answer to that is to scoff then you have Not Been Paying Attention. But Allison is trying to live a nice, stable life now, her guns (note the plural) at the range, her pills and booze put away. She’s even doing a play. And yes she does know a gun dealer – sorry “enthusiast”. Because she’s Allison.

After a few crafty switches Sarah manages to speak privately to Paul – learning that Rachel intends to take Kira out of the country and that she’s going to a big Dyad event that evening. Also bad guy Daniel (Rachel’s chief goon) is after Sarah – but Sarah’s a few steps ahead. A quick phone call to confirm that Cosima is still a little naive and it’s on to Allison buying that gun from her very enterprising contact.

Sadly Delphine puts some doubt on that trust as she meets with Leekie – who is not happy that Cosima isn’t with them full time and gives Delphine a dead line on that. Delphine reveals Cosima’s illness – and hands over a blood sample.

Far more importantly, Allison gets the lead part in the play (after killing Aynsley. But that totally wasn’t why she did it. Honest). And she’s been watched by a very very bemused Detective Art and his partner Detective Angela who are frustrated by numerous dead and missing clones leaving them only Allison to follow. Which is when Sarah shows up – Angela rushes out to arrest her (thankfully Allison notices before she walks over with the gun). Sarah throws out some info about the murders in the diner but Angela believes nothing.

Orpan Black, Season One, Episode Ten: Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Sarah checks on Kira and then heads back downstairs and asks Amelia if she is ready to see her.  Amelia quickly stands and says that since she carried them both that she needs to see Helena. Mrs. S says that she does not believe that nine months of gestation entitles Amelia to risk them all. Sarah walks Mrs. S away from Amelia and tells her that Helena is her twin sister and that she has a right to know. Mrs.S points out that Helena is dangerous but Sarah reminds Mrs.S that Helena has had her whole world turned inside out just like she has. Sarah suggests that should decide what to do with Helena dependent on how she reacts to Amelia.

They all head downstairs and Amelia pauses to tell Sarah that she needs to see her privately because she has something for her from back then about her invitro treatments.  They walk over to Helena and Sarah tells Helena that Amelia is her birth mother.  When Helena starts to scoff, Sarah warns her that she had better listen to what Amelia has to say, or she will turn her over to Leekie.  Helena asks Amelia how she can be her mother and Amelia replies that she is indeed her birth mother.

Upstairs, Mrs.S is going through Amelia's things and when she finds a sealed envelope, she opens it. Inside she finds a picture of a woman that looks very much like Sarah and a young Leekie.  Kira comes downstairs and asks who is there.  Mrs.S assures her that everything is fine but Kira tells her that she think that something bad is going to happen again.

Sarah tells Helena that their connection is that all of them were implanted by doctors. Amelia tells Helena that she hid her because she felt that she was in danger. Helena realises that this means that Sarah is her twin sister.  Sarah tells Helena that she does not want to be her twin sister but does want her to know that she is not the original and was born of science - not in some immaculate room or whatever bullshit Tomas fed her.

Someone knocks upstairs so Sarah rushes upstairs as Helena tries to escape downstairs.  Sarah pushes Amelia to the side and tells her to say that she was just visiting.  The cop burst through the door and call out Sarah's name. Art and Angela with guns pointed arrest Sarah, as Kira watches from the stairs.  In the basement, Helena has escaped through a window.

Sarah is sitting in an interrogation room when Art walks in says that he still sees Beth.  Sarah tells him that she did not kill Beth. Art says that she watched Beth commit suicide and then went straight for her wallet. Art shows her a picture of the German and asks who she is, then points out that Sarah has been obstructing the investigation since the moment she took over Beth's life.  Art adds that she is the prime suspect and Sarah tells him that she didn't kill her.  Art tells Sarah that he has Felix in custody for abetting and Kira will be a lonely little girl unless she starts talking.  Sarah tells that he won't believe it and Art says to try him.

Allison is working out to an exercise video when her doorbell rings.  She heads to the door and it's Dr. Elvis Leekie.  Allison tells him that she is armed and asks him what he wants.  Leekie replies, "to make amends."  Leekis is now sitting at Allison's table and asks about the contract he wants her to sign.  Leekie says that it's more like a treaty - rules that both sides will abide by.  Allison points out that everything that they have done is illegal and that they must think that she is stupid suburban Allison.  Leekie says that it's quite the opposite and that she is a pragmatic and decisive individual. Leekie adds that now that Allison is self aware that they can start to answer some of her questions.  Allison is not pacified and says that she no longer wants answers, just her life back. Allison adds that he wants her life back, her privacy back, Leekie out of her life and for things to be normal again.  Leekie tells her that he is glad that she said that and hands her a contract claiming that it will enshrine her family's freedom and guarantees protection from the likes of Helena. The contract also stipulates that Allison will be unmonitored. This gets Allison's attention and she sits down next to Leekie.  He adds that in return for this, Allison has to agree to twice the medical testing but assures her that it will be private and non invasive.  Leekie tells her that though he doesn't want to scare her there are medical concerns like Katja's respiratory disorder and Helena's mental disorder. He adds that regular testing is in everyone's best interests and suggests that she discuss it with Sarah and Cossima.  Before leaving, Leekie says that as a gesture of good faith that Allison's monitor has been lifted.

Angela is questioning Felix and points out that he purposefully misidentified the body of a police officer.  Felix claims that it was a terrible case of mistaken identity. Angela tells him that it's fraud and will amount to 2-5 years with his prior convictions.  Felix says again that he thought it was his sister and adds that Angela really needs to get laid. Angela replies, "tell me about it, but all I seem to meet are gay men." Angela then asks if he wants a public defender and promises to get him a real shitty one.

Cossima gets off a bus and starts to cough when she looks at her hand, she realises that she is coughing up blood. Leekie is there to meet her and asks to give her a lift to her hotel, claiming to have an offer she might find interesting.

Back at the station, Sarah is still sitting in an interrogation room when Art returns holding Beth's phone. He plays the message Sarah left for him earlier and tells her that Beth killed herself and he didn't see it coming. Art asks her to help him and help Beth.  Sarah says that there is a reason that they look exactly alike, why the prints match and why the DNA is all screwed up.  She starts to cry and tells Art that he has to promise to protect her and Kira.  Art replies if that is what she needs then he promises. Daniel Rosen walks into the room and tells Art that the interview is over and demands that Sarah be unshackled immediately. Rosen tells Art that Sarah will be leaving with them.

Cossima is in a limo with Leekie and he hands her an unsigned contract to the Dyad institute and points out that it has very generous compensation. Leekie tells Cossima that they want to work with her and hands her a complete sequence of her genome and adds that his offer is the freedom to study herself and her sisters. When Cossima does not answer, Leekie tells her that they share them same concerns about stability and points out that nobody is more concerned than Cossima.

Sarah is now walking with Rosen and informs her that they had Felix released as well.  When they approach Paul, he asks for a minute. Rosen leaves Paul and Sarah alone and he tells her that she left him hanging with Leekie when she didn't show up.  Sarah asks him if he works for Leekie now and he tells her that they still have Afghanistan on him. Sarah asks what he means and he tells her that she changed the game for everyone and now he can only help her from here. Paul suggests that Sarah listen to what they have to say and Sarah asks if she has a choice before walking away.

Sarah walks forward and she meets a woman who looks exactly like her.  The woman introduces herself as Rachel Duncan and says that they are going to come to terms. They have a seat and Rachel goes through a contract which formalizes disclosure with what she calls "top side." Sarah asks about top side and it means that "20 more robot bitches will walk in." Rachel tells her that she is not an orphan anymore and that her role is to transition her to self awareness.  Sarah says that maybe she should embrace the fact that she is a clone and go on Oprah.  Rachel tells her that they are not the enemy and that Helena and her ilk are.  Sarah says that if she wants to help she can tell her what she is doing there and what they are for. Rachel pushes the contract forward and says that it defines disclosure.  Rachel adds that they want her trust and she wants precious answers about who she is but above all Rachel adds that she knows Sarah wants to make the right choice for Kira.  Rachel tells Sarah that she is lucky to be a mother.  Rachel says that the forced behind Helena will not stop and that the most important thing for Sarah is protection for her and Kira. Sarah puts the contract on the table and says that she will get by on her own.  Rachel points out that she will be scrambling to stay alive and if she takes the deal she will be free live her own life with Kira, provided for and unmonitored.  Sarah stands and repeats that she is not interested and leaves. Rachel calls out that she has 24 hours to think about it and that they expect an answer by midnight tomorrow.

Allison and Sarah are at Felix's and Allison says that they are offering them a truce. Sarah says that Rachel didn't feel like a truce and was more like a gun to the head.  Felix interjects that while he and Sarah were being arrested that Helena escaped.  There's a knock at the door and it turns out to be Cossima. Cossima tells Sarah that she shold have listened to her about Delphieand the two hug.  Cossima shows Sarah the the offer from Leekie and Allison asks what she is planning on doing.  Cossima says that they have to know their own biology and that this is what it's all about. Sarah says that she cannot trust Rachel and Cossima agrees because Kira could be who they are really after if she is the first child of a clone.  Allison asks who Rachel is so that if she shows up at her door one day, she will know who she is.  Sarah tells them that Amelia said she heard doctors back in the day discussing neolution and Felix realises that Rachel is a pro clone.  Allison says that if there aren't anymore spies in her life and her kids are safe that she is inclined to take the offer. Cossima tells Allison that it's okay and that it's her choice.  Cossima gets a text from Delphine saying that she just got off a plane. Sarah grabs her coat and says that Delphine probably wants to help but she is heading to Mrs. S' because she wants to be there when Kira wakes up. Sarah adds that they should make their own decisions but she is not trusting anybody.

Orphan Black, Season One, Episode Nine: Unconscious Selection

Kira is being rushed to the hospital and Sarah and Mrs. S are at her side.  In the waiting room, Sarah says that she should have known that Helena was going to find them and that she should have done something to stop her.  Mrs. S tells her not to blame herself and Felix assures her that Kira is going to be just fine because she has to be.  Allison shows up at the hospital and Felix pulls her aside saying that she is in the way.  Allison replies that she cannot help but feel that it's her daughter in there.  Felix suggests that Allison head home but Allison says that she cannot go home because she assaulted her monitor and is afraid she will be carted away.  Felix hands her his keys and promises to call if he hears anything.

The doctors are still working on Kira when someone notices something strange on the ultra sound. A doctor comes out to see Sarah and tells her that Kira is going to be okay and that there are no internal injuries or head trauma.  Sarah is shocked because Kira was run right over and the doctor simply says that Kira is a very lucky girl.

Kira is back in her room and she tells Sarah that Helena looks like her. Sarah tells her to rest and promises to keep Kira safe from her.  Helena is back on the ship and is beside herself that Kira got injured. Tomas tells her to pull herself together. Helena tells him that Sarah is Kira's mother and Tomas says that it's ridiculous but Helena insists that Kira was hit by a car because of her.

Sarah comes downstairs and tells Mrs. S and Felix that Kira is asleep.  When Mrs. S suggests that Sarah should thank her lucky stars, Sarah replies that she does not believe in miracles. Felix again suggests that Kira got lucky but Sarah tells Felix that he didn't see it.  Mrs. S again suggests that Sarah count her blessings and move onto her problems and Sarah replies that Helena has got to go.

At the station, Angela and Art are talking about the probability of bringing Beth in. Art points out that she has no charge which is going to stick and Angela suggests obstruction, saying that it's all connected to the civilian shooting. Hardcastle joins them and asks how it's going and suggests that they both need a fresh pair of eyes on their case. Angela says that they are good and Art asks to be given to the end of the day.  Art then turns to Angela and asks her if she wants him to throw his ex partner under the bus and adds that if he is wrong about this that Angela will be the last partner he ever has. Angela says that she is starting to wonder if Beth has something on him and he simply replies, "end of day."

Tomas is looking at Kira's letter and asks Helena how she could possibly have let Kira go. Helena says that Kira is innocent and that she did what she was told and used Sarah to get to the others.  Tomas gets angry and asks where the others are and why Sarah is still alive.  Helena says that she took of Olivier's tale for him and Tomas says that it was to get Dr. Leekie's attention and adds that Kira will be valuable to them.  Helena's phone goes off and Tomas grabs it and instructs Helena to tell Sarah to come there.  Helena asks if Kira is all right but Sarah refuses to answer, so Helena says that it was an accident.  Tomas again demands that Helena tell Sarah to meet up and slaps Helena across the face.  The phone flies out of her hand and Sarah hangs up.

Leekie and Paul are at the apartment and Leekie says that it's a nice place for two young people. Leekie holds a picture of Paul and Beth together and says that it looks very convincing but adds that he knows about the lie Olivier told about last night.  Paul asks what he means and Leekie says that someone tampered with the security footage and that he knows there were two clones there.  Leekie says that he has searched for Helena for quite some time now and that she is his white whale. Leekie adds that Helena is pale but feral and suggests that Helena could not pretend to be Beth but that Sarah Manning could.

At Felix's, Allison has got her domestic goddess on the go and is busy scrubbing and cleaning Felix's apartment. When he returns home, she asks if Kira is going to be okay and Felix says that it was a miraculous recovery.  Allison tells him that his drug paraphernalia is in a drawer along with the paraphernalia that was by his bed.  Felix asks if she washed that as well and Allison does not answer.  Allison instead says that her children are at her mother's right now and believes that she can use Felix's apartment as a base while she apartment hunts. Felix says no but Allison says that Donny is staying clear of the house right now and that she needs to go home and get a few things.  Felix gives in and gives her permission to stay one night and tells her not to wake him when she returns.  Allison replies that she is a pariah and therefore does not believe she can return alone and asks Felix to be her wingman.  Felix asks if she is serious, so Allison takes his hand and says please.  Felix replies that he needs to change and asks Allison to fetch him something gay.

Sarah is on the phone with Cossima and Sarah asks if Kira is different because she is her daughter. Cossima clarifies and asks if this is because Kira is uninjured. Cossima replies that since they are genetically modified that Sarah could have passed something down to Kira and Sarah asks like what.  Cossima says that she doesn't know because lizards regrow limbs. When Sarah comments that Kira is not a lizard, Cossima says that it's not magic but stem cells.  Cossima adds that she has a guy who is comparing her DNA with that of the German's to see if the illness she had was genetic and suggests giving him samples of Sarah and Kira to compare.  Sarah replies that she is not giving Cossima material for fear that she would hand it over to Delphine.  Cossima replies that she is doing what they agreed, which is to follow the science.  Sarah is not convinced and says that she worries more about the scientists than the science.  The doorbell rings and Sarah disconnects.

Sarah heads downstairs and beats Mrs. S to the door and it's Paul.  Sarah introduces Paul to Mrs.S and says that Mrs. S knows everything.  Paul then tells Sarah that Dr. Leekie knows who she is.  On the ship, Helena is trying to fight back but Tomas locks her in a cage and says that he gave her everything and  that if she protects the clones, she is no better than they are.

Paul tells Sarah that Leekie wants to meet and Sarah asks if Cossima gave her up. Paul tells her that this is an opportunity but Sarah says that he sounds exactly like Cossima.  Paul adds that he does not trust Leekie either but points out that the genie is out of the bottle for Leekie's group as well.  Paul says that their intrests have aligned and that means that Sarah can get answers. Sarah believes that she will be black bagged and kidnapped, so Paul asks what if there were a way for them to meet safely on her terms.

Cossima is back in her lab and Scott tells her that the samples are different and asks what she is really looking for.  Delphine enters the lab and asks if she can come over later, then kisses Cossima goodbye, as Scott watches.

Sarah is back in Kira's room as Mrs. S looks on.  Sarah tells Mrs. S that if Kira wakes up that she is to tell her that she will be right back. Mrs. S asks if she means it and Sarah says yes.  Sarah then asks if they are going to be okay there and Mrs.S pulls out a shot gun. Mrs. S says that one of the great things about this country is that weapons aren't just for the rich.  Sarah heads downstairs when Art calls and says that they need to talk.  Sarah says that they already did that, so Art replies off the record and points out that this is her last chance. Sarah asks where he is.

Felix and Allison head back to her home and when she walks in, she finds an intervention waiting for her.  Allison says that this is bullshit and Felix introduces himself as her gay friend.  The minister says that her friends have shown great courage in setting aside their pain and hurt to talk  with her today and instructs Donnie to start.  Donnie tells Allison that the pills and drinking has to stop and that he doesn't believe she knows how hard it has been for him with the abuse and criticism.  The minister tells Donnie to be specific, so he brings up being hit with a golf club and having his chest burned with hot glue. When Allison starts to speak, the minister cuts her off saying that it is important for her to just listen.  Aynesley then says that Allison took advantage of her husband, may have ruined her marriage, and threatened and assaulted her but what hurts, is that Allison turned her back on their friendship.  Donnie adds that it's not just about the two of them and asks Allison if she really wants to break up their family.  Allison runs upstairs and Felix follows her.

Orphan Black, Season One, Episode Seven: Parts Developed in an Unusual Manner

Sarah is skyping with  Cossima and she tells her that Olivier called Paul in quite some time ago and Paul has yet to return.  Cossima asks if this is out of the ordinary but Sarah says that she has no idea what normal is.  Cossima suggests that as long as Paul is on their side that things should be okay, but Sarah is not certain that Paul is on their side.

Paul is sitting down with Olivier and he wants to go back to the time of Beth's shooting of a civilian. Olivier wants to know if Paul still perceives this as a normal reaction to what happened.  Paul says that Beth's decline lead directly to the civilian shooting and that she only got worse from there.

Back on skype, Sarah warns Cossima to stay away from her handler Delphine but Cossima believes that they must engage with their monitors.  Sarah tries again and points out what happened between Allison and her husband, and Allison's desperation now to save her marriage. Cossima promises to confront Delphine much more logically and points out that her situation is different. Cossima points out that Delphine doesn't know that she knows but Sarah asks Cossima to stay away from Delphine until she finds out whether or not Paul is selling them down the river.

Helena is still under some sort of care and is awoken by Thomas.  She asks where she is and Thomas only tells her that she is getting stronger.  We see that Thomas is wearing a ring with a very distinctive signet.

Sarah and Felix drive to an underground club that Olivier told Paul to meet him at.  They find Paul's car and Sarah says that even if Paul's not ratting her out, the medical tests could still tell them that she is not Beth. Felix replies that Cossima said they wouldn't but Sarah is not convinced and suggests that Cossima is blinded by science. Felix says that from his research, Cossima is right and that because she is a clone of Beth, Sarah and Beth have identical DNA.

Art and Angela are meeting with a pathologist and they learn that the DNA sample from the Jane Doe in the gravel crusher and the DNA sample from the killer in the bathroom are a match.  Art says that someone in the lab must have messed up.  Janice says that there was no mistake and wonders if the blood they found was planted.  Angela suggests that possibly someone with access tampered with the results. Art says that they are missing something from the very beginning. Hardcastle suggests that they need to do it the old fashioned way and asks about the facial reconstruction of the Jane Doe.  Janice tells them that it's coming and reminds Hardcastle that her face went through a gravel crusher. When Hardcastle and Janice leave the room, Art tells Angela that Beth would never tamper with evidence. Angela concedes that he might be right but reminds Art that he had questions with her run in with the killer. Art says that they need to return to square one like Hardcastle said.

Outside the club, Sarah says that she is tired of waiting and that she is going to go into the club to find out what Paul is up to.  Felix tells her that she cannot go in there with her recognizable mug and that club land is his world.  Felix enters and is told that the club is private but when a woman walks in, he says that he came a great distance to party there and was told to mention Olivier.  The woman tells him that he is dying and says that he is not familiar with neolotionism. Felix gets in and tells the woman that he is intrigued by evolution and self augmentation. He asks if Olivier is advanced and is told that he has no idea.

Olivier asks the last time Paul was sexually intimate with Beth and how he would charcterise it. Paul says that that he does not understand the question. Olivier then asks if Paul would describe the intercourse as intimate, aggressive, perfunctory, aggressive, sensual and Paul says passionate. Olivier points out that Paul has previously described Beth as a cold fish and Paul once again says that it would help if he knew what is going on. Olivier tells him that the problem with clandestine ops is that information and security rarely go hand in hand and this is why he has been told that someone is killing their subjects.

Helena sits up and is offered a drink by Thomas, who asks why she let the imposter live.  Helena replies that Sarah is different than the others. Thomas asks how "it could be different" and Helena replies that she does not know and that they have a connection.  Thomas says that it's nothing and is just like one of Helena's fingernail clippings.  Helena tells him that Sarah said that she is not the original and that they are all the same. Thomas knocks the drink out of Helena's hand and asks her how she could believe such a thing.  Helena and Thomas embrace and Helena asks for forgiveness.

Felix makes his way through the club and follows Paul out. Paul surprises Felix, grabbing him by the neck and asks why Felix is following him.  Felix says that he is not following him but when it's clear that Paul does not believe him, Felix says, "I thought you might want a blow job."  Sarah shows up and pulls Paul away from Felix and tells Paul that Felix is her brother. Paul asks her what she is doing there and Sarah tells him that she was worried.  When she asks what happened, Paul tells her to meet him at home.

Thomas tells Helena that her task is more difficult because the real Beth shot their friend Maggie Chen, as he dries her feet. Helena says that the copies are harder to find, so Thomas suggests that maybe the could use the imposter (read: Sarah).  Helena replies that she would like to see Sarah again and Thomas grabs her by the head and informs Helena that "it will say anything to justify itself." Helena promises to be strong and Thomas replies, "get back to the Sheppard is to the sheep." Thomas hands Helena a razor and tells her to bleed the imposter for what it knows and then kill it.  Helena uses the razor to cut her back and on her face is an expression of euphoria.

Later, Helena opens a door to a freighter and Thomas tells her, "you are the original, you are the light." and Helena repeats his words. He opens the door widely and Helena steps outside.

Paul and Sarah are at home and he says that they should go over what she knows and that Beth said that there were nine of them. Sarah corrects him and says that there is only one of her, just like there was only one of Beth.  Paul replies that this is not what he means and Sarah concedes that Beth said that there were nine altogether but she has only met Allison. Paul asks who else knows besides her brother and Sarah replies just her and Allison.  Paul then asks about Allison's husband and Sarah tells him that they have been together since high school and that Paul is not her monitor. Paul tells Sarah that they don't know that and informs Sarah not to lie to him.  Sarah asks what is going on and if Olivier is on to them.  Paul reveals that Olivier told him that someone is killing the subjects and asks if she knows anything about that.  Sarah says no and asks who and Paul tells her that Olivier said that he is to watch her closely and make sure that she is not aware. Paul tells her that this is high level shit because cloning humans is illegal and asks Sarah if she is the least bit worried that someone might be trying to kill her.  Sarah says yes and adds that at least it's not Paul. Sarah then says that she still needs to see her daughter and Paul hands over his car keys saying that his job is to keep her safe.

Sarah heads to the underground parking garage and she sees Helena in the window.  Helena says that she is not there to hurt Sarah and that she just wants to talk.  Sarah tells Helena to stay away from her and Helena says that she has an offer for her and that they should do lunch.  Helena and Sarah head to a restaurant and Helena tells Sarah that she dreamed that they were friends.  Sarah makes it clear that they are not friends but Helena informs her that they will be because she has seen it. Helena shifts gears and says that the restaurant is nice and asks what Sarah's name is. Sarah tells her that the relationship is not there yet and asks if Helena is Russian.  Helena tells her that she grew up pure in a convent in Ukraine. Sarah asks if the nuns made her kill the others and Helena says no and that the nuns saved her from abandonment.  Helena says that she wants the knife back that Sarah took from her and informs her that she is supposed to kill her as well.  Helena adds that Sarah saved her, so Sarah suggests that they should call it even and go their separate ways.  Helena tells her that they will never be separate but she will spare her. Helena grabs a pen and tells her that she has until midnight to tell her the names and hands her a phone number saying that if she doesn't, Sarah will die first. Helena then leaves the restaurant.

Orphan Black, Season One, Episode Five: Conditions of Existence

Helena is being treated in a factory like setting. She whispers the name Thomas and is told, "yes, easy now. Sleep child."

Allison and Sarah are on skype together and Allison is not impressed that Sarah stopped impersonating Beth and that Helena is still on the loose.  Sarah says that this is not why she called and in fact wants to thank her for what she did with Kiera. Allison tells Sarah that she is very lucky. That night when Allison gets into bed, her husband goes to make the moves on her and she simply slaps his hand and says no.

Sarah is in the shower at Beth's, when Paul let's himself into the apartment.  By the time he gets to the bathroom, the water is running but Sarah is no longer in there.  She confronts him with a nail file and pauses when she realises who it is.  Sarah invites Paul into the shower and they have sex.  Later that night in bed, Paul asks her to go away because she is now off the force and he hates his job.  He wants them to pack their bags and leave.  Sarah turns to him and says, "let's talk about it in the morning." That night Sarah dreams that she is in a lab.

When she wakes and brushes her teeth in the morning, she chokes on something metal and has a flash back to that same piece of metal in the lab. Sarah examines her arm and finds a puncture wound.  She heads back to her bedroom to get dressed and Paul asks how she is feeling and again suggests that they leave and go to Rio.  Sarah tells them that they cannot leave but Paul says that she wanted a commitment.  Paul asks her what's wrong because she is shaking like a leaf, and Sarah says that she is just going out for some air.

Sarah gets on Skype with Cosima and shows her the piece of metal she found that morning.  Cosima tells her that it's an electrode from an EEG helmet, which monitors electrical activity in the brain. Sarah realises that what happened was not a dream.  Allison steps forward and says that they are like lab rats in an illegal experiment.  Cosima asks where Paul was while all this was happening and Sarah starts to talk about the doctors and Felix interrupts to suggest that Paul could be in on this. Allison has a gun and has started to assemble it saying that someone has to be watching the lab rats, someone we know.  Cosima says that if it were her experiment that she would put an observer close to the subject, someone who could keep tabs and accumulate data. Sarah asks what they did to her and Cosima says that she thinks Sarah would know if they did anything invasive and that an EEG is like a neurological test and that they probably took a blood sample. Sarah says that she is not sure that Paul is in on it and Felix asks if this is because Paul slept with her.  Allison is shocked by this and Sarah says that they just sort of ended up shagging.  Allison adds far be it for me because she may be sleeping with her spy as well. Allison grabs her bag saying that she left the gun Sarah wanted.  Sarah asks about the money and when Allison asks what it's for, Sarah says that it's the self defence fund and that the last time she checked, she was the only one defending them.  Allison hands over twenty thousand and tells Sarah to use it wisely.  Sarah says that she is going to shoot Paul's balls off but Cosima tells her to just squeeze them because Paul is their way into this whole thing.  Cosima warns that if her subject were to suddenly become self aware that it would either be a eureka moment, or she would terminate. They end they chat.

Sarah gets a call from Raj and she tells him that she is off the force.  Raj tells her that he is going to need all of the surveillance stuff that he lent her back before an inventory is done. Raj then asks if this is just about Paul, and Sarah tells him that she will get the stuff back to him in a couple of days and hangs up.  Sarah stands up and says to Felix that Beth had surveillance equipment and Felix suggests that she was onto Paul as well.

Allison's husband is searching through drawers while he is on the phone.  Donnie says that one week she (read: Allison) is fine and the next week it's like Armageddon.  Donnie asks what their options are if it gets any worse.  Allison returns home and catches Donnie searching and asks why he is searching through her vanity.  Donnie says that he was looking for scissors and Allison asks him who he was talking to.  Donnie says that he was talking Big Rich from work about about Susan Teller because she has been all over them this quarter.  Donnie leans over and asks her to cut the tag off his shirt.

Felix and Sarah arrive at Beth's and Sarah tells him to find the surveillance stuff and then put everything back where he found it. Felix calls the place antiseptic and says that Paul's whole world feels fake now.  Felix starts to search and hands Sarah a card for Trexcom Consulting. Felix asks that if Paul was observing Beth, what makes her so sure no one is observing Sarah Manning. Sarah says that Mrs. S hates her and hasn't seen her in a year and that she is giving Felix the benefit of the doubt. Sarah finds nothing on Beth's computer.   Felix finds a box with Beth's gun and picture of Paul indicating that he was formerly in the military.  They check out Beth's car and find surveillance equipment in the trunk.  Sarah says that it's time to check out where Paul works and Felix agrees saying, "I bet you that there's nothing there."

Sarah heads to the consulting firm and finds an empty building. She is met by a woman who says that they downsized and points to where Paul's office is now. The woman says that he is in a meeting and Sarah replis that she and Paul got into an argument this morning and that she brought him some lunch as a peace offering. The woman leads Sarah to Paul's office and she sits in his chair.

While Donnie is outside, Allison starts searching through his things.  She finds porn videos at the bottom of his chest of drawers. Allison continues her search and finds a metal box with a padlock on it.

Sarah plugs in a device under Paul's desk and she is now in contact with Felix. Paul walks into his office and she tells him that she brought him lunch as a peace offering.  He says that he would rather talk about last night and kisses her on the neck and notices that she is missing a scar on her neck room the mountain bike crash.  Sarah tells him that she is using a new lotion and he thanks her for lunch. Paul sits down at his computer and pulls up video of Beth and focuses in on her scar, then slams the computer closed.  He calls Madison and tells her to clear his afternoon because something came up.

When Donnie returns home, Allison asks him what is in the box. Donnie says that it's private but Allison again demands to know.  Donnie says that he is entitled to a little privacy, "even in this house." Allison demands that he open the box and the two start to struggle over it.  He screams, "Allison stop it," and grabs the box

Cosima is at the lab and she examines a sample of blood and says that it looks fine. Scott asks who the subject is and Cosima says, "subjects, and if I told you that, I'd have to kill you."  Cosima then asks Scott to check the sample for genetic markers. Scott asks what's in it for him and Cosima answers, "how about you get to have sex with yourself."  Across the lab, Cosima listens in on Delphine, who is speaking French and when she leaves behind a piece of paper, Cosima picks it up and finds grades.

Sarah calls Felix and says that Paul is a bastard. She is reading a letter and says that Beth loved him but he wouldn't love her back and he wouldn't leave her. Felix says that Paul has changed his tune now and that he is falling for Sarah.  Sarah says that she is outside of Kiera's school and that her daughter is the only thing that really matters.  There is a knock on Felix's door and he tells Sarah to give Kiera his best and hangs up.  When Felix opens the door it's Colin the morgue attendant.
